Two questions were received by from Charlene Wheeler at Polyvision Corp.

Could you please provide information to the following:

1. Bid Proposal Form (Format A – page SC3) – Delivery states that “prices quoted shall include charges for packing, handling, freight, distribution and inside delivery.  All vendors must offer inside delivery (F.O.B. destination)…”  It is our understanding from past experience that FOB destination, which is delivery to the warehouse dock, is the preferred delivery method.  Is this correct or has it changed?

2. Bid Proposal Form (Format B - page 1 of 2) – Specifications contain “cast aluminum box tray” requirement.  The “Approved Brands” show Claridge Series 4, which does not meet this specification.  Should we bid a comparable PolyVision product without box tray?  [PolyVision has provided the Series 153, which does include a box tray, in the past to Miami-Dade schools.]

ANSWERS:

1. “Inside delivery” refers to delivery to a location which may not have a warehouse dock.

While the majority of deliveries will be to a warehouse dock, there may be instances

where a dock is not available and it is the responsibility of the vendor to deliver product

“inside” the facility.

2. The issue of the aluminum box tray was reviewed with the sales manager from Claridge,

the product’s manufacturer, and he has confirmed in writing the specs will be met. The Series 4 type unit is available with the optional tray. This option is shown on their website, , on the Series 1 detail, but it is not pictured on the Series 4 detail.
