ROKEBY SCHOOLJOB SPECIFICATIONSports Teacher i/c Football / Rugby / CricketRole outline:The Master i/c Football / Rugby / Cricket will have responsibility for the organisation and development of the sport, within the school from Reception to Year 8. As such the role is an important developmental and management position within the school.Key responsibilities:To be responsible for Football / Rugby / Cricket throughout Rokeby School.To lead & manage the Football / Rugby / Cricket programme at all levels of the school with particular focus on coaching the 1st team.To be responsible for the overall administration of Football / Rugby / Cricket in accordance with agreed school policies.To assume responsibility for the administration of all fixtures, in line with School Calendar deadlines.To assume responsibility for the appointment of referees, coordination of all transport arrangements and the organisation of hosting visiting teams (to include catering).To organise appropriate training programmes and manage the pre-season programme. To establish a Development Plan for the overall infrastructure of school Football / Rugby / Cricket to cover performance, coaching and facilities at all levels.To ensure a coordinated approach to Football / Rugby / Cricket participation, performance and excellence through the support of associated development bodies (including the RFU).To review and recommend budgets for the Football / Rugby / Cricket programme to the Director of Sport.To provide guidance, support and impact on Football / Rugby / Cricket performance at all levels of the school through extracurricular provision.To work in conjunction with the Sports department to support the teaching and to manage/coach teams in other sports.Play a leading part in school sport representation outside of the Football / Rugby / Cricket season.To be responsible for the organisation of Football / Rugby / Cricket tours at all levels.To co-ordinate events such as Football / Rugby / Cricket festivals, tournaments and fixtures.To strengthen links between other Football / Rugby / Cricket organisations including local clubs.To make recommendations for additional, appropriate support for Football / Rugby / Cricket to the Director of Sport.To identify appropriate training needs under the guidance of the Director of Sport.To support and encourage all staff coaching Football / Rugby / Cricket through the provision of inset and the promotion of regular sports clinics.To organise appropriate training schedules for all teams and work in conjunction with the Director of Sport to allocate facilities for coaching and practice.To assume responsibility for the organisation of House Football / Rugby / Cricket competitions where appropriate.To form links with local primary schools in order to identify ways in which Rokeby might work with them and their pupils.
