Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship- High-achieving high school seniors from household incomes at or below $95,000 are eligible for this scholarship. CMU Leader Advancement Scholarship- The Leader Advancement Scholarship awards 40 high school seniors from across the nation who have distinguished themselves through their records of leadership and service with an $8000 scholarship-$2000 per academic year- to enroll in CMU’s renowned leadership development program. DAR Good Citizens Program and Scholarship contest- The DAR Good Citizens program recognized outstanding young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools and communities.

Michigan Education Association scholarship- Dependent of an MEA member or MEA-Retired member in good standing. Graduate of a Michigan public high school, that has an MEA bargaining unit. Priority is given on the basis of: Academic achievement, Extra- curricular activities, School and community service, Students from lower income households. Troy Community Lions Scholarship- The Troy Community Lions will be offering two $1000 college scholarships to graduating seniors. They must reside in Troy, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and plan to attend college in September 2018. You can get application on line at or in the Counseling Office.

Credit Union One Scholarship- Complete 30 or more hours of community service, be a 2018 graduating high school senior, be a member of a family that belongs to Credit Union One of Michigan, grade point 3.0 or above. Application on line at

B. Davis Scholarship- This scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post-secondary institution. There are no age restrictions. Be sure to include your name and the school you ae attending this year and next. This is not an academic scholarship, but they would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are. To apply for this scholarship, you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on this topic:

High School Poster Competition- Wednesday March 21st, 2018- Lawrence Technological University, Southfield. High school students in Metro Detroit can win a scholarship or cash award. Students are challenged to be creative by designing a poster. The top ten posters will be on display April 10-12,2018 during WCX18 at Cobo Center in Detroit. Micro-Electric Vehicle Competition-Wednesday, May 2, 2018- Yakazi North America, Inc., Canton

The first objective of the competition is to design and build a dry cell powered vehicle (battery supplied) to race up a fixed incline while pulling a six-ounce weighted trailer (supplied). The second objective is to be the first to pass the finish line with the trailer in tow. In addition, a four-minute presentation and a one-page, typewritten report about the vehicle is optional.

The University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit- They are pleased to announce that they have gone digital for the 2018 Scholarship application. We offer 12 outstanding scholarships to incoming freshman at the University of Michigan. Students are encouraged to apply for the scholarships before receiving an acceptance letter, but know that you must be a member of the incoming class of Fall of 2018 to be a recipient.
