Homework:

Homework is given to reinforce what is taught in class that day. It is expected that students complete assigned homework and when we go over the homework in class to correct problems done incorrectly. Assignments will be posted on the KHS Assignment Wiki (connect.). Full credit when turned in on the due date, half credit within one week of due date and no credit thereafter.

Method of Evaluation:

70% of a student’s marking period grade is based on quizzes and tests, 20% is based on classwork, and 10% is based on homework. All tests and those quizzes that are included in a students’ grade will be announced in advance. Formative assessments, which may be included in grading, may be given without advance notice. There is a common district exam for Geometry in January (Midterm Exam) and June (Final Exam).

The final overall grade for the course is determined by averaging each marking period grade (20%), the midterm grade (10%), and the final exam grade (10%).

Make-Up Work:

First of all, try not to be absent. If you are ill, by all means stay home and get well. Make-up work must be completed within three days of absence. Failure to do so will result in a zero for the assignment. If absent on the day of a quiz or test, the quiz or test should be taken the next day the student is present. Make-ups will be done in the test center.

Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones (or other electronic devices) are not to be used during class for any reason unless as directed by the instructor in the room. Failure to comply with this policy will result in confiscation of the electronic device and the student being referred to the office.
