Example Interview:

You may not choose this character; this is only an example. Refer to the list above for your character choices.

Character: Genie

Story: Aladdin

1. What difficulties have you endured and how did you handle them?

o I was confined to my lamp and unable to be free; I couldn’t make my own choices- I had to do what others requested. I also had to serve some pretty evil and selfish masters. I handled these difficulties by trying to be positive and be the best friend I could be. I even wrote my own song and dance routine about it! “You Ain’t Never Had a Friend Like Me”! I took pride in my abilities even when I didn’t have the freedom to do anything I wanted. Instead of only feeling sorry for myself, I tried to focus on helping other people, like my friend Aladdin.

2. What is the greatest lesson you have learned?

o I think the greatest lesson I’ve learned is that even though there are things in life you can’t control, you can control your attitude! Always keep a positive outlook. No one can take that away from you.

3. Give one word to describe yourself and explain why you chose that word.

o I would say creative because I am always finding new ways to grant wishes and solve problems, like when I turned Aladdin into a prince so he could meet Princess Jasmine.

4. If you could go back and change something about your life, what would it be? Why?

o I would give my friends the benefit of the doubt and trust that they would come around. Once I got mad at my friend Aladdin for going back on his word, and then we got separated and I thought I would never see him again! I want to hold friendship in the highest regard and forgive my friends when they make mistakes.
