PERFORMANCE NUTRITION VOLUNTEER, ATHLETICS

JOB DESCRIPTION This volunteer program is an opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students to gain knowledge and skills in the area of sports nutrition while playing an integral role in UT's Performance Nutrition Program at Intercollegiate Athletics. Preference is given to nutrition students pursuing a career in sports nutrition. It will allow students the ability to apply the skills they have learned in the classroom to real life experiences in the sports/performance field, as well as learn new skills to prepare them for a future career in sports dietetics. Responsibilities of students will include helping staff and the Sports RDs with daily duties and on-going projects for optimal fueling of the Texas Longhorn student athletes. These tasks may include, but are not limited to: ? Stocking & maintenance of fueling stations ? Providing/preparing pre-workout & recovery fuel for various team ? Redesigning or developing nutrition educational material ? 1 special project per semester

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated strong interest and passion for sports nutrition & desire to pursue RD credentials ? Effective leader with strong communication skills ? Some heavy lifting involved ? Able to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per week

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Current undergraduate nutrition student or graduate student with undergraduate degree in nutrition, dietetics or related degree
