Through the use of TYPOGRAPHY, students will develolp their own LOGO for a Company based ONE of the following topics. Please CIRCLE it now:

PROCEDURE:

PART ONE: Brainstorm for YOUR Logo Design CLASSWORK (this will be graded- Please do not loose!)

1. Choose an interest of yours from the list above. Write down what it will be here:____________________

2. If you could develop a Company based on this interest, what would you name it? Please write down AT LEAST three potential names.

PART TWO: Logo Design Practice: CW/HW

1. You will be given a series of Handouts to do for HOMEWORK

2. Each one is a preparation for development of your OWN Logo WITHOUT TYPE.

c. Logo Improvement

PART THREE: Typographic Font: HW

1. At home, in a typing program (Pages, Microsoft Word….etc); you will be typing your chosen company name in a variety of different Fonts, Sizes and Type Face (bold, italic, regular…etc). This will help you determine what FONT you will use for your Company Design.

2. Type your Company name in 30 different font and (or) type families.

a. For Example: TRYZYB DESIGNS, TrYzYb Designs, Tryzyb Designs, Tryzyb Designs, Tryzyb Designs, Tryzyb Designs, TRYZYB designs, tryzyb designs, tryzyb DESIGNS

PART FOUR; Creation: CW/HW

3. In your NEWSPRINT PAD, SKETCH with pencil:

a. 6-8 examples of your Company Name with your Company Symbol

i. It can be a full word

ii. It can be initals

iii. It can be an abbreviation

b. Draw them LARGE. Have AT LEAST TWO per page.

4. REMEMBER: LESS IS MORE!

5. We will choose together the best design and it will go through a FINAL improvement stage.
