Using Developer Tools for Entering Free Text (**.docx documents only) **Must have datasource attached to use.At times, documents require information that PbK does not store. When documents are in .docx format, you can use Word Developer Tools to add free text fields. The user can then tab through the document to add the information. The Aa enters a “Click here to enter text” box. You can then click back on the box and make it red for it to standout in the document to alert the users. You can also change the “Click here to enter text” title in Design Mode. Click on Design Mode, type info, close Design Mode. You can utilize the “checkbox” feature so you don’t have to lock the documents.Developer tools also has a calendar feature that allows the user to input a date into the document. PbK allows court dates, but only one per document. Any additional dates, would need this feature or you would have to manually enter it into the document You can format the calendar date as well under properties. In addition, you can just key 5/7/15 in box, click off box, and it will pull formatted date as well. There is the “Choose an Item” feature, which allows a drop down box for the user to select from. You can add the selections under properties. It is suggested to make this red as well so it is easy for the user to see. Click on the box and select Properties.Once your have entered your items, click ok. These items are now available under the “Choose an Item” box. It is suggested to click on box and make red as well to alert the user.**Using Word Content Control Toolkit to Duplicate Answers in Documents**There is a new way to pull in duplicate answers in a document without using the ASK statement or answering the same question more than once. This is a feature that would have to be downloaded to the computer and saved to your desktop or toolbar for easy access. Once installed you will have an icon as shown When a document calls for a duplicated answer, follow the steps below.1. Enter your text box or calendar tool using the developer tools. Turn on Design Mode and rename if you choose. Close Design Mode. 2. Click on Developer Properties. Type your Title of the information you want to be entered. Type your tag as a single name. Do not use spaces. Then check on Allow Carriage Returns if needed for the info. Click OK. 3. Now you will see the tag at the top of the box. Click on the tag so the whole box is highlighted. Then do a Control C and paste wherever the duplicate answer needs to go in the rest of the document. After you paste the text box, you should be able to click on the duplicated tag and it should be the same.***********************************************************************************************4. Once that is completed, save and close the document.5. Open your Word Toolkit, click on File, and Open.6. Select the document and the click on “Click here to create new one” (XML)7. Go to Edit View.
