What is Your Brand? A "brand" typically refers to the thoughts, ideas, concepts and feelings associated with a certain business/company. Brands are generally used for making a business known and for providing exposure to certain products and/or services that the business offers. A logo is a relatively small symbol or picture that represents the company/business. e.g. A slogan is a short catch phrase that is associated with the company/business. Answer: What are some famous brands out there? What are some famous slogans? Write the name of the business/company and their slogan below: What is Personal Branding?Personal branding is the practice of people marketing themselves and their careers as brands. While previous self-help management techniques were about self-improvement, the personal-branding concept suggests instead that success comes from self-packaging.Personal branding is the process of developing a “mark” that is created around your personal name or your career. You use this “mark” to express and communicate your skills, personality and values. The end goal is that the personal brand that you develop will build your reputation and help you to grow your network in a way that interests others. They will then seek you out for your knowledge and expertise. ACTIVITY/TASK - Creating Your Personal Brand You will think about how you will “sell” or “market” yourself to the world; so you must think about what “image” and “idea” you want associated with yourself. PLANNINGStep 1- Jot down some ideas below about who you are. How do you define yourself? (e.g. what is important to you? What are you like as a person? What are your hobbies/interests? What are your future goals? etc.) Step 2- Jot down some ideas below about what message you would like to deliver to others (in your community and the job world) about yourself. (e.g. What kind of worker are you? What are your interests? How do you stand out among others? What makes you unique? What skills/talents do you have? etc.) Step 3- Jot down some ideas about what your personal slogan can be. This will represent who you are in the community, job world, etc. (Be professional yet creative!) e.g. Bob McCann is your man! Step 4- Jot down some ideas and/or draw what your personal logo could be. This will represent who you are in the community, job world, etc. (Be professional yet creative!) Ideas for your logo go here: Final Product? Due for March 29th, 2016 (Tuesday), yes, will be marked. TASK: You will create a Word Document where you will begin creating your final product. You will write a description about yourself to represent your personal brand (just like you were brainstorming for in Steps 1 and 2). This description should be approximately 200-300 words. DO NOT make up/falsify anything….everything you write about yourself needs to be 100% true. However, you can make up a ‘pretend’ online presence for yourself via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Your personal brand will include a slogan as well as your logo (your logo could be created using an application such as Paint, or you can directly use Microsoft Word as well by hand designing your logo and then taking a picture of it and copying and pasting it into the Word Document). There are also free websites you can use to design your own logo!Make your final product look professional, well organized, thorough, and carefully edit it!Your final product will look something like this (FULL PAGE IN MICROSOFT WORD): Danny Renaldo Ms. RizzutiGWL3OMarch 29th, 2016Danny Renaldo Insert description of yourself here: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Insert your slogan: “Dan’s the man for you!” Insert your logo: Fill in extra white space with other information related to your brand For example, this could be in the form of additional pictures along with captions to explain your pictures. If you actually have pictures of yourself in relation to what you are saying about your brand, this works as well! SEE NEXT PAGE FOR EXAMPLE OF FINAL PRODUCTYour final product will look something like this (AT LEAST ONE FULL PAGE IN MICROSOFT WORD please or some other form of software): Danny Renaldo Ms. RizzutiGWL3OMarch 29th, 2016 Danny Renaldo My name is Danny Renaldo and I am all about passion and excitement with everything I do, whether it is in the kitchen, the community or the classroom. For example, I love whipping up new creations with West Indian Foods, Italian and French cuisine, etc. for my colleagues but more importantly my friends and family. Currently I am creating my own cookbook where I will incorporate a fusion of different foods from different cultures to better represent my community. I also love to educate others through cooking by creating my own Outreach Program for Youth in the Community to experience integrating with the community but also honing in on their cooking skills for better nutrition in their lives. My work is very important to me as I view my job (and any potential jobs in the future) as being not just a job, but a way of life. This is because there is a part of me reflected within not only the food I cook, but my everyday actions. You can consider me to be a valuable addition to the workforce and/or the community. “Smell that goodness!” - Maria Henry, age 15 from the Outreach Program. right112395#cookingupastorm Find me on Twitter –@DaRealChef You can also find me on Instagram and Facebook.
