MLB Aspera Delivery Guide for MiLB users5/16/2018 v3.0Aspera on Cloud is a simple, fast and secure way to upload or download media and metadata to and from MLB. Using only a web browser and a lightweight plugin you can achieve speeds hundreds of times faster than a traditional FTP upload. It will even resume partial transfers and retry failed transfers automatically. Requesting an AccountTo request an account, please go to the Clubhouse registration link: your email address and click “Apply”. Please use your team’s email address rather than a personal gmail/yahoo email account. All other applications will be denied without further context. On the next screen, select “Media Upload Tool Minor Leagues” from the “GROUPS:” section and fill out the form below. Please be sure to include the club(s) for which you will be uploading in the “Company / Team Name:*” field. After you have filled out the form, please click “Register”. You will see the confirmation screen. You will also receive an email confirming your registration request. When your account is approved, you will receive a second confirmation email. Click on the link within the confirmation email to set up your password. Go to mlb. to complete the registration process. You can then access Aspera by clicking the icon on your Okta landing page or heading to and clicking “Sign in with MLB SSO (ALL USERS)”. Logging inAfter the initial registration process, all users can access MLB Aspera at: you head to the link above, sign in using the white “Sign in with MLB SSO (ALL USERS) option. This is mandatory in order to use the platform. (Note: MLB Aspera will not use the “Files” option.)On the left rail is a link to the MiLB workspace’s available inboxes. (Note: Inboxes have replaced dropboxes from the original Aspera interface.)All video and audio assets will be uploaded to the MLBAM inbox.The Sent list displays all assets sent to the inbox; the Archived list displays all assets archived by a user; and the Deleted / Expired list displays all assets that have been deleted by a user or have expired within the workspace.If you do not see the MLBAM inbox, click Send Files and it should appear then.UploadingClick the blue “Send files” button on the left rail to activate the dialogue box. Then click into the “To*” field to bring up a list of inboxes.After you select the MLBAM inbox, enter any special instructions such as team and/or player tags in the “Message” field. Next, attach your file by either drag-and-drop or by clicking “Upload” to locate the file on your computer.(The “Options” menu at the bottom of the dialogue box is disabled. Please be advised that our Multimedia team is automatically notified of every upload to Aspera.)Then click “Next”.After clicking “Next”, enter all metadata on the ensuing screen, including your club name and your email address.Finally, click “Send” to transmit the asset.After you initiate the transmission, you can monitor its progress by clicking the transfers icon in the top right.Mobile AppAspera Files Mobile is free and available to download on the iOS App Store and Android Google Play Store. The mobile app’s robust interface allows users to upload and download content accordingly.When you first load the app, select “Add account” and enter mlb in the ensuing field.
