Students can download free AutoCAD 2016 software to personal computer from Autodesk and students may access TinkerCAD on personal computers for free by creating/signing in at Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: 1. Describe job opportunities in Computer Aided Drafting and Computer Aided Design related careers; 2. Demonstrate the ability to utilize CAD software to create basic drawings; 3. Demonstrate the ability to draw external and internal shapes of objects using orthographic projections and isometric drawings and sketches; 4. Define and apply the principles of geometric developments and intersections;5. Demonstrate the ability to apply a problem-solving methodology to solve real life issues. 6. Demonstrate the ability to construct various types of sectional view drawings to show an object's internal features; 7. Draw simple multi-part drawing: detail, assembled view, exploded view, and isometric view.8. Demonstrate the ability to successfully convert dwg. files to Stl. files.9.
