Program will be contacted by Micro-Grant staff if additional information is required. The order will be delayed if a Micro-Grant staff member needs to follow up on missing information. Examples: dolls, blocks, puzzles, books, small manipulatives, outdoor play materials, sensory materials, storage or shelving for children’s materials, child furniture, etcetera.Items must be selected from one of the following vendors:Discount School Supply: Kaplan: Lakeshore Learning: There are 3 exceptions to the vendors allowed for children’s materials:Large Ticket Item exception: Single items with a list price of $200 or more can be purchased at other vendors. This means that each individual item must be over $200 - NOT that the order total is over $200. Montessori or Waldorf Curriculum Materials: Programs may order off the preferred vendors list if the Technical Consultant has verified that the program uses only a Montessori or Waldorf Curriculum.Children’s material in languages other than English: Programs may order off the preferred vendors list if the items being purchases are in a language other than English.How to complete this purchase plan:List items by desired priority. Every attempt will be made to select items in the order requested. However, when making the purchases, the specialist may need to select items out of order to complete a micro-grant.If possible, review and select items directly from the vendor website. Catalogs can be outdated. The website will have the most up to date pricing and availability.Provide the full and correct product number for requested items. Some items have a general product number but there may be additional info needed. Examples: If there is an option for color choice, please indicate what color is being requested. If you do not select a color, one will be selected for you.When ordering chairs, tables or other similar items, make sure to indicate what size or height is requested.Give a brief but specific product description. Use the vendor’s own description when possible.Note that some items can be discontinued, unavailable, or out of stock at the time a Micro-Grant staff member places the order. Some items may be on back order and will take longer to be rmation on discounts: use this information as a general guideline, but restrictions may be applied at the discretion of the vendor.Discount School Supply –15% discount and free shipping on orders over $79 (after discount) on in-stock items only. Any item with a truck symbol indicates it is a drop ship item and is not used to reach the $79 level, may not be discounted, and does not qualify for free shipping.Lakeshore – No discount, but free shippingKaplan – 15% discount and free shipping on orders $100 or more. Items with a truck symbol indicate it must be delivered by truck and will incur a shipping charge.When working with the three preferred vendors, to account for possible discounts please select items totaling 15% above the Micro-Grant amount. For a program receiving a micro-grant of $250, select materials totaling $287.50For a program receiving a micro-grant of $500, select items totaling $575.00For a program receiving a micro-grant of $1000, select items totaling $1150.00This will assist Micro-Grant staff to quickly purchase requested items without contacting the program for further information if discounts allow for additional materials to be purchased. This does not guarantee all items will all be purchased. It is helpful to also add some inexpensive items at the end of this purchase plan. This allows the Micro-Grant staff to add small items to reach the full amount of the grant.Total of purchases will not exceed Micro-Grant amount. Micro-Grant staff will drop items from the purchase plan to remain under the grant amount. Overages are avoided because it is not possible for the Micro-Grant program to bill the child care program for the difference.Micro-Grant requests are processed in the order received. Every effort will be made to address all grants within 8 weeks of receipt by the Micro-Grant Program. To clarify, these 8 weeks begin the day the Micro-Grant Program receives the grant request, not the day it is submitted to a Technical Consultant. The volume of Micro-Grants submitted statewide in a particular period of time directly affects wait times. Programs may encounter shorter waiting times when YoungStar volume is low, or they may encounter longer waiting times during periods of higher volume. During this time product availability and prices are subject to change at the discretion of the vendor.Adult Resources/Curriculum/Assessment MaterialsAny purchase that will primarily be used by adults or to store adult resources. Activity or curriculum materials, computers or laptops, tablets, shelving or furniture for adult usage, assessment materials, etcetera.Adult resources, Curriculum, or Assessment materials can be purchased at any vendor. However, please note: the Micro-Grant Program cannot make purchases at any membership based vendor.Please review the “How to complete this purchase plan” section above.Special Shipping InstructionsThe Micro-Grant program has all items shipped to the address that is listed in the program’s YoungStar records.
