Important instructions on how to use online tutoring and its policies

E-mail: You must use your Warhawks email address (username@warhawks.ulm.edu) when creating an account since all notifications from the platform, regarding scheduled tutoring appointments and homework help submissions, will be sent to the email address that you use to create your account.

Types of Tutoring: You will be able to either schedule an appointment with a tutor or send a homework question to a tutor. To clarify, tutors are not allowed to do your homework that will be graded (that’s cheating!). However, tutors can work with you on similar problems that will help you do your homework. If you send a question, a tutor will have 2 school days (excludes weekend) to respond. Therefore, please do not wait until the last moment to ask for help.

Session Cancellation: You will not be able to cancel a session from your account if it is within 24 hours of the start time of the session. The tutor or administrator can cancel the session anytime before it is scheduled to begin. In case of cancellation, you will be notified. If for some reason you must cancel your tutoring session, let your tutor or tutoring coordinator know.

Session Duration: Each tutoring session will last up to 60 minutes. Make sure you appear on time. It is extremely important to be prepared with specific questions before every tutoring session. That is how you will take the most out of tutoring appointment. Also, tutoring works the best if you are utilizing it on a continuous basis (once or twice a week).

Whiteboard: You may practice how the online whiteboard works (“Try Our Whiteboard”) once you create your account. Whiteboard is referred to as a virtual whiteboard that allows you and your tutor to collaborate at the same time. It has built-in chat, image uploading, file sharing etc.

Tutor Work Hours: Online tutors will be able to tutor ONLY during their available work hours, which you will be able to see on their calendars.

Recommended Web Browsers: 1) Microsoft Internet Explorer: Version 6.0 or later 2) Mozilla Firefox: version 1.5 through Version 2.0 3) Google Chrome, Version 2.0 or later 4) Apple Safari

Complete Survey: After each tutoring session, please go to and complete online tutoring evaluation. We really want to know about your experience. Any suggestions that you may have are more than welcome. The more we know about your experience the better services we can provide for you.
