Please read this privacy notice together with the Enquirers, Applicants and Students Notice.?This privacy notice relates specifically to BCU’s use of health data to manage COVID and other infectious diseases.? ?This notice concerns our processing of personal data of students.What information does the University collect??When you complete our COVID Risk Assessment Tool you will answer questions about your health, and find your “COVID age”.? The “COVID age” indicates how vulnerable you are (based on your assessment answers) to become seriously ill if you are infected with the COVID virus.?We may request other personal data, and use other personal data that we already hold about you (as described in the Enquirers, Applicants and Students notice) to manage COVID and other infectious diseases.? We will use any of the sources referred to in the Enquirers, Applicants and Students notice.?How we use your personal data?Your “COVID age” will help you to decide whether it is safe for you to study on campus and allows us to engage with you to discuss possible support available to you, depending on your individual circumstances. Where your “COVID age” identifies that you are at high or very high risk, an auto-notification will be sent by the assessment system to staff within the Mental Health & Wellbeing team. The team will then contact you to discuss your situation.We are permitted by law to use your health data (including your “COVID age”) to manage public health at our premises and ensure compliance with legal obligations. ?See the Enquirers, Applicants and Students Notice for a list of your rights and how to exercise them.?Who has access to the data??Your self-assessment and “COVID age” will only be accessed by a small number of staff within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team. There is no intention to share your details outside of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team unless you have provided explicit consent to do so.Where will the data be stored?The secure database used to store your data is kept in the?UK.
