Goal: Skilled Teachers Teachers will have a solid foundation of the skills required to develop technology centered lessons with the applicable resources (Promethean boards, laptops, student response systems, document cameras). Evaluation Method: Walk through observation checklist conducted via department chairs and administrators for teachers; technology embedded lesson plans submitted in OneNote. Success Indicator: 100% of teachers must implement a strong technology lesson once a week. StrategiesTimelineBudget/Funding SourcePerson(s) ResponsibleProfessional Development classes: these will be geared to the appropriate technologies available for teacher implementation. Classes will begin in September 2016. Teachers will have professional development meetings once a month PLC meetings to learn and follow up on the technologies. No cost. These classes will take place during monthly PLC meetings. The media specialist will implement these monthly meetings. Administrator, media specialist and department chairs.Mentor teachers (teachers with strong skills in one or more of the appropriate technologies) will be assigned to teachers will less experience. Mentor teachers will meet with mentees weekly for a few minutes to gauge how the lessons and activities are developing. They can address problems at this time. No cost Administration Goal: (Instructional Use – required) Teachers will implement more online and web based learning opportunities to help students develop higher order and critical thinking skills in standards based lessons. Evaluation Method: Data collection kept on students from summative assessments; teacher shadow form completed for each shadowing opportunity Success Indicator: Students will become proficient with the content standards for each class they are taking. Administrator and Media Specialists Goal: Student Focused Teachers will change their classrooms to support a student centered focus.
