Downloading Fonts from the Internet and Loading in Photoshop:
1. Go to a free font website and select the font you want. It must say for Mac OS or it may have problems being downloaded.
2. Once it is downloaded, it will appear as a folder on the desktop or in your downloads.
3. Next, double click on the font folder and it will open in the “font book”.
4. Clock on “install font” and look for the font in your Photoshop file. Click the Type tool, drop down the font tab and look for the name in alphabetical order.
5. In order for the font to appear in the font library you may need to quit Photoshop and then restart Photoshop.
6. If the font still does not appear—shut down your computer, restart, and it should appear in Photoshop.
7. Make sure to save the font file to your Student Home. You will have to reload the font every time you want to use it. Deepfreeze will delete the font when the computer is shut down.
Using Shared File Fonts and Loading in Photoshop:
1. Go to the Imaging and Arts Shared Files Folder.
2. Scroll down and find the Fonts Folder.
3. Select the font you want and drag it to the desktop.
4. Next, double click on the Hard drive HD on the desktop > Users > Artstudent > Library > then drag in the font folder from the desktop
5. In order for the font to appear in the font library you may need to quit Photoshop and then restart Photoshop.
6. If the font still does not appear—shut down your computer, restart, and it should appear in Photoshop.
Downloading Brushes from the Internet and Loading in Photoshop:
1. Go to a free brush website and select the brush you want. Make sure it is for Mac OS.
2. Once downloaded, it will appear on the desktop.
3. Next, double click on the HD > Applications > Photoshop > Presets > Brushes >
Then drag in the brush from the desktop.
4. Open Photoshop.
5. Select the brush tool.
6. On the top menu for the brush, click on the small arrow to open up the fly out menu.
7. Click on Load Brushes. A dialog box will appear. Click on HD > Applications > Photoshop > Presets > Brushes > the name of your brush should now be listed, select it, click Append to add it to your other preset brushes.
8. Go back to your brushes list and your new downloaded brush will appear at the end of the list.
