You will need to print this message and keep it for ready reference before accessing any quiz.

Do not use a calculator on assigned problems from the book or on quizzes unless the textbook, MyMathLab, and Moodle indicate that you are to use a calculator. When the exact answer is to be given, you cannot use the calculator. If the problem doesn't specify that you are to use the calculator, it is generally expected that you are not to use the calculator. If the answer is to be given in decimal form, it is understood that the calculator is to be used to obtain the decimal answer.

THE QUIZZES WILL BE CONSIDERED AS 20 POINTS OF YOUR OVERALL GRADE IN THE COURSE. You will be allowed to attempt each of the quizzes twice. This will allow you to work the problems, review the explanation for the problems you missed, and then attempt the quiz again before the final due date.

THE QUIZZES FOR EACH WEEK ARE SEPARATED INTO SEVERAL PARTS. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE EVERYTHING IS DUE FOR THE WEEK AND TRY TO COMPLETE ALL OF THE QUIZZES FOR THE WEEK. YOU MUST WORK ON THE MATERIAL CONSISTENTLY EVERY DAY AND COMPLETE EACH PART OF THE QUIZZES FOR THE WEEK AS YOU FINISH THE CORRESPONDING SECTIONS IN THE TEXTBOOK.

QUIZZES IN MyMathLab:

(1) DO NOT ACCESS ANY QUIZ UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO START THE QUIZ AND COMPLETE IT.

(2) Once you begin taking a quiz, you will need to continue to work until you submit your answers for the quiz.

(3) If you must exit a quiz before you submit your answers, your quiz will be considered incomplete. All partial answers will be saved and you will start where you left off when you login the next time.

(4) TO OPEN A QUIZ IN MyMathLab, Click the "Quizzes and Tests" tab.

(5) Copy or print each problem.

(6) Work each problem in an orderly manner and keep all work to attach to the feedback from the quiz so you will have it to study in preparation for the midquarter and final exams.

(7) Submit your quiz once you have completed it. Your answers are now locked and cannot be changed.

NOTE: Some of the problems on the quizzes are multiple choice, but you should not abuse this method of testing. BE SURE THAT YOU ACTUALLY WORK THE PROBLEM TO OBTAIN THE ANSWER. DO NOT TRY TO JUST FIGURE OUT THE CORRECT ANSWER BY THE PROCESS OF ELIMINATION. The exams and optional final will not be multiple choice and you will be required to show your work where work is required.

IF YOU STUDY THE TEXT, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OTHER SUPPLEMENTS FOR THE COURSE ON MyMathLab, DO THE ASSIGNED HOMEWORK, AND ASK QUESTIONS WHEN YOU NEED HELP, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO WORK THE PROBLEMS ON THE QUIZZES. IF YOU WORK THE PROBLEMS ON THE QUIZZES IN ADDITION TO THE HOMEWORK AND STUDY THOSE IN PREPARATION FOR THE EXAMS, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO WELL ON THOSE EXAMS.
