MINUTES, HENDERSON CITY COUNCIL, WEDNESDAY, January 15, 2020

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Paul Menne; present were council members Jim Wartman, Robyn Geldner and Janet Boese. Also present were Troy Koester, Eileen Brandt, Curtis Wadd, Kyle Renneke, Dimitri Ikonitski and Lucy Meyer.

Motion Wartman, seconded Boese to approve minutes December 18, 2019 meeting. Motion carried.

Police Chief Ikonitski presented his report.

Curtis Wadd from WW Blacktop went over and requested closeout for the 2018 South 6th Street project. After extensive discussion motion Wartman, seconded Geldner to approve the request and make the final payment; motion carried. $5670.72.

Kyle Renneke from ISG group went over their company plan for the proposed I/I and Storm Water project. Questions and discussion followed.

Motion Geldner, seconded Boese to accept the proposal from S.E.H. to do the City of Henderson I/I Storm Water project (presented December 18, 2019). Motion carried.

City Administrator reported on activity report, discussions with Le Sueur on JPA/Wastewater agreement; FEMA on 2018 and 2019 Disasters and other monthly activities

Mayor Menne reported on status of flood mitigation project-waiting for session to start.

Wartman reported on recent budget and finance committee meetings.

Geldner reported on the recent Henderson Fire District meeting. Dan Eibs will be the additional appointment for 2020, Casey Hermann was recognized as Assistant EMT of the year and 1 person was dismissed from the department per policy violations.

Menne reported there will be an application pending with the Henderson Police department to close North 6th Street in conjunction with the 2020.Prince celebrations June 7, 2020.

Menne reported on school task force meeting and encouraged all to contact task force and school board members regarding the Henderson option.

Motion Geldner, seconded Wartman to approve the December monthly financial report. Motion carried.

Extensive discussion on future Henderson City Council pay-Lucy Meyer provided an affirmative comment on additional compensation.

Motion Wartman, seconded Boese to change the monthly city council pay to $100 per month and the Mayor to $200 per month effective January 1, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.

Mayor Menne made appointments and designations for 2020. Motion Gelder, seconded Wartman to approve those appointments. Motion carried.

Motion Geldner, seconded Boese to approve the revised meeting schedule. Motion carried.

Mayor Menne adjourned the meeting at 8:25 P.M.
