Fence Building
The Henley FFA School Farm has been growing by leaps and bounds this year. We started off by replacing the fence bordering Highway 39. With the help of Klamath Basin Equipment and other generous supporters, the project was completed on September 14th. Henley FFA would like to thank everyone involved-especially Advisory Board Member Dick Cloud and Bunnie from PP&L. Without their continued support we would not be as successful.
Soil Judging
Henley FFA Soil Judgers hit the dirt hard this year, and after numerous practices, traveled to the Bonanza Soil Judging Invitational on October 3rd. At the contest both the Novice and Advanced teams placed 2nd, with high individuals being Courtney Fujishin and Brittney Alves. Next, the team traveled to the Southern Oregon District Soils Contest held in Rogue River on October 9th. The Novice team place 3rd and the Advanced team placed 2nd overall. High individuals were AJ Quinn, Cody Heath, Kris Dodd, and Brittney Alves. Finally, they traveled to the State Soils Contest in Eagle Point on October 16th. Good job to everyone that participated!
Tulelake Fair
On September 7th, members of the Henley FFA chapter traveled to Tulelake CA, and participated in the Annual Youth Livestock Judging Contest. Henley had two high teams, taking 2nd and 5th place. There were also 3 high individuals, Joe Johnson, 5th, Brittany Williams, 4th, and Hannah Cox, 3rd. Keep up the good work!
Shasta College Field Day
On October 18th, a busload of FFA members pulled out of Henley at 6:30a.m. and headed down to Redding CA, to the Shasta College Field Day to compete in Livestock Judging, Horse Judging, and Farm Power contests.
Results from the contests have yet to be announced. Good Luck!!
