FAQs

Why do I need to request a Letter of Credit (LOC)? o The letter of credit is your employer's promise to pay which allows the University to generate your course invoice and confirm your tuition assistance eligibility.

Where do I request my LOC? o You will need to log into the EdAssist Portal to request the LOC for your course.

How often do I need to request the LOC? o You will need to request a LOC prior to every course. It is recommended to request the LOC three weeks prior to the course start date.

What happens if I do not submit my application for a LOC through the EdAssist Portal in time? o You may be unscheduled from the course.

My LOC application has not been approved by my manager for a course I am starting. What will happen? o EdAssist will provide the University a report of all course approvals. You may be unscheduled from your course if you are not on this report by the Monday of your first week of class. The application for the LOC should be submitted and approved by your manager in the EdAssist Portal prior to every course.

Can I submit the LOC after I am unscheduled from the course? o Yes, you will need to send a screen capture of your approved LOC application in the EdAssist Portal or submit a copy of your LOC. Your deadline to be scheduled back into your course and avoid being dropped is no later than 2pm on Thursday, the second week of your course.

Do I need to have the exact course name and start date on the LOC? o Yes, the course name and start date will need to match your course schedule. If it does not match, update your LOC through the EdAssist Portal. To confirm your schedule visit your Student Portal homepage or contact your advisor.

How much should I request for the LOC? o You will want to request your tuition rate until you have exhausted the full $5250 employer contribution amount. Contact a Financial Services Representative to confirm the tuition amount to request.

Who do I contact if I have questions or concerns about the EdAssist Portal? o Please contact the EdAssist helpline directly at 877.276.7115.
