The Graduate School of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will be giving a talk to potential students in Korea on research postgraduate degrees (MPhil and PhD) at HKU.

Professor Sookja K. Chung will provide a brief introduction of HKU, including the history and the facilities to support research, teaching and learning. The admission requirements, application details, tuition fee, scholarships, awards and other financial assistance available to students during talks.

We aim to attract academically outstanding students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds with qualities of character and potential which help to build up an intellectually stimulating environment for student learning.

1. About the University of Hong Kong

2. Eligibility

• MPhil - Bachelor’s degree with honours from HKU or another qualification of equivalent standard from a comparable institution

• PhD - Bachelor’s degree (1st class Hons),

Bachelor’s degree (Hons) plus taught Master’s degree,

Bachelor’s degree (Hons) plus MPhil

from HKU or comparable institution

3. Fellowships and Scholarships Available for 2015-16

• Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPF) Scheme – US$30,760 per year

• HKU University Postgraduate Fellowships (UPF) – At least US$24,320 per year*

• Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) – At least US$22,070 per year#

*HKPF awardees will not concurrently be awarded UPF and PGS

5. Composition Fee for 2014-15

Full-time: HK$42,100^ per annum

Part-time: HK$60,000^ per annum

7. Financial Support for Conference Attendance/Travel

Financial support for students to attend international conferences or exchange programmes.

Students may also be offered opportunity of spending part of their study period away from campus to gain more exposure
