9:00 a.m. Welcome, Introductions and Overview

9:15 a.m. Case Management: Rules, Regulations, Responsibilities of the case manager

In the HCS program. Monitoring services. Tips for managing caseloads an

meeting deadlines. We will discuss the current (provider) & future (MRA)

Case Management Role as well as the future (provider) Case Coordination role

as of June 2010. Review upcoming TAC Regulation changes concerning the

MRA’s Case Management Role.

10:30 a.m. The Individual Service Plan: Writing an ISP with observable, measurable and

outcome-oriented objectives. Writing service justifications. How and when to

do updates, interim staffings, quarterly reviews, case management notes.

Creating data sheets and measuring progress.

12:00 p.m. Lunch

1:15 p.m. Continue with ISP & Service Justifications. Discussion of upcoming changes

to Case Management role in June of 2010 vs. Provider Care Coordination

Role as of June 2010.

4:30 p.m. First Day End

Day 2

9:00 a.m. Level of Need: How to do ICAPs, MRRC’s and LON increases.

12:00 p.m. Lunch

1:15 p.m. LON increases continued. Attendees will also write an ISP working in small

groups.

8:30 a.m. Items you can’t forget in your annual staffing. Preparing for Annual Survey.

What do surveyors look for? Preparing for the New Residential Review

Process (RSS, SL, & FC). What do reviewers look for?

10:00 p.m. Adaptive Aids and Minor Home Modifications: How to navigate through the

system. What’s covered and what isn’t. Documentation required

Understanding

Title XIX.

11:30 p.m. Billing: What’s a billable service and what isn’t. Tips to avoid losing money

as a result of billing audits. Changes to HCS Billing Guidelines as of

Oct. 2009. Sample billing logs- nursing, residential & day habilitation.

12:30 p.m. Consumer Directed Services

1:00 p.m. End of day 3!
