POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

|POSITION: |Electrical and Computer Engineering TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR |

|PRIMARY LOCATION: |DeKalb Campus |

|DESCRIPTION: |The Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree Program is accredited by |

| |Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc. The program seeks a Full-time Instructor to teach in the|

| |area of Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology. This position requires teaching responsibilities for credit courses|

| |within the School of Industrial Technologies. Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities which |

| |may include internet and high school classes. The Instructor will report to the Dean. |

|ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: |The Instructor must possess the ability to: |

| | |

| |Teach all phases of the Electro-Mechanical curriculum |

| |Perform additional duties including developing instructional materials |

| |Evaluate students’ progress in achieving instructional goals and objectives |

| |Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area |

| |Communicate effectively with businesses and Industrial students, parents and High School staff |

| |Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus |

| |Prepare curriculum for coursework taught |

| |Operate & maintains instructional equipment & trainers |

| |Deliver training by lecture, hands on, computer multi-media, online & text |

| |Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives |

| |Attend in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed |

| |Maintain program certification requirements |

| |Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas |

|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology |

| |or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours. Appropriate degree will reflect the requirements of |

| |the College’s accrediting agency. |

| | |

| |Appropriate degree will reflect the requirements of the institution’s accrediting agencies and state and/or national |

| |licensing boards. |

| | |

| |Three or more years within the last ten of full-time, paid in-field work experience in the area of |

| |Electric Motors, Drives and Power Electronics. |

| | |

| |Work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels included in the Industrial Systems |

| |instructional program. |

| | |

| |Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. |

| | |

|PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: |Five or more years, within the last ten of full-time, paid in-field work experience in in the area of Electric Motors,|

| |Teaching/advising/mentoring college-level students with broad, diverse backgrounds are also desired. |

| | |

| |In-field certifications are desirable. |

| | |

| |A comprehensive knowledge in the field of Electro-Mechanical Devices and Power Electronics. |

| | |

| |Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is desirable. |

|salary/benefits: |The salary for this position will be based upon education, experience and other qualifications. This is a full-time |

| |position with paid state holidays, accrued annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Health Flexible Benefits |
