Clear Background Check.Department:ElementaryReports to:Principal Prepared by: Teresa Stuckey Approved by: Michael Cox SUMMARY: Responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students can fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth and for organizing and implementing an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with District and state policies and laws. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a like position Professional development in the areas of: Research-based exemplary practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment Communication skills Monitoring for student achievement Student and parent conferencing skills Learning Focused StrategiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):Use on-line curriculum provided via Edmentum (Courseware)Assess student progress and assist students as they progress in CoursewareMaintain accurate, complete, and correct records (grades, attendance, discipline)Provide progress reportsMeet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designatedCreate a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.Help facility learning for Homebound students. Organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes Use effective strategies in differentiating instruction Exhibit knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning Exhibit knowledge of standards-based curriculum and instructional programs and practices for elementary and middle school levels Demonstrate operational knowledge of Internet and Web-related technologies Ability to establish and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and schools Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behaviorCommunicate and/or meet with parents/guardians as needed but not less than bi-monthlyMake provisions for being available to students and parents for education -related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable termsSupplement curriculum if neededGuide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goalsAssist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conductDevelop reasonable expectations of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just mannerMaintain and improve professional competenceAttend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as requiredOther Requirements:Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as computer software manuals and procedure manuals. Ability to write procedures for students. Ability to communicate with parents/guardians. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of School Trustees policies.
