2016-2017 DUSA DUES Deductions

The IEA-NEA DUSA dues amounts listed below will be deducted from each pay check over

19 pay periods beginning September 09, 2016 through June 16, 2017

(NOTE: January 13, 2017 and April 21, 2017 pay checks will not have dues deducted)

The scheduled number of hours you work per day determines your status for the amount of dues to be deducted from your paycheck.

IEA/NEA Dues status is determined to be…

…FULL TIME, if you are scheduled to work more than four hours per day.

…HALF TIME, if you are scheduled to work more than 2 hours up to 4 hours per day.

…QUARTER TIME, if you are scheduled to work 2 hours or less per day.

DUSA -IEA/NEA yearly dues for 2016-2017 are listed below by status. Dues are divided between the Local (DUSA), the State (IEA) and the National (NEA) Associations. The state and national dues assist in the legal matters of a union. The local dues are determined and governed by the local membership for contract maintenance, negotiations, representation and education.

The breakdown for the local dues: Training– 15%, Negotiations- 5%, President’s Release Time – 0%, Scholarship – 18%, Supplies/ Miscellaneous – 61%, Arbitration/Emergency- 1%

New employees and changes in hours per day are pro-rated from the start date of the new employee or change in hours. Please allow 30-45 days for the changes to occur.

NOTE: It is the responsibility of the union member to contact the DUSA Membership Chair within 14 days of the notification to the district with all changes in legal name, hours, building location, position, resignation and/or retirements. When posting notification of a position change to DUSA, please include your name, the number of hours per day/ location/months per year and classification group letter (A,B,C).

*The Per Pay amount is for deductions during the fiscal year of 2017. If you do not work a full school year or deductions were not started on 9/09/2016, your Per Pay amount will be different due to pro rate calculations.

A fee payer status (fair share employee) is considered a non-member of this association. Fee payers are not entitled to vote on internal matters, hold a union office or committee position, or be entitled to receive the attorney referral and/or special services benefits. Fair share fee payers are obligated to pay their “fair share” of the dues for representation, negotiations, and maintenance of the union contract. This fair share fee (IPACE) is $30.00/year less per year than full union member dues.
