The practice test is an opportunity to become familiar with the types of questions on the test. ELPAC measures the progress students make in their English language development in each of the four domains.

The California Department of Education has developed a series called the Parent's Guide to Understanding. It is designed to provide a simple overview that answers critical questions about the what, why, who, how and when of each assessment.

Review the Parent's Guide to Understanding (available in seven languages)

Step 1: Go to WWW. and click on the blue button on the left side that indicates Practice and Training. Step 2: Select the Student Interface Practice and Training Tests option. Step 3: Select the green Sign In button. Step 4: Select an option from the grade drop down menu (K-12). Step 5: Select the English Language Proficiency Assessments (ELPAC) Practice Test. Options: for proficiency in speaking, oral comprehension, reading, or writing. (Select only 1) Step 6: Do not select test settings, just click the green Select button. Step 7: Complete the audio and video checks. Select the I heard the sound, or I did not hear the sound button. Step 8: Select the green Continue button. Step 9: Select the green Begin Test Now button.
