If choosing to use a headset, webinars are completely free for Branches and groups to use, as the Communication department pay the monthly fee. This means webinars are:Free to useMore cost effectiveWider audience reachFree recordings available which can be put on your site for members to view.What is the ideal webinar format?1-2 presentations – You only really want to pick one key topic then have a discussion around this point or provide two sides to the debate. Any longer than this and it will be an information overload for your attendees. You want to ensure you have the important facts available and leave the additional information to the verbal delivery. Create a PowerPoint presentation that is roughly 5-10 slides long and will ideally last between 10-40minutes. Maximum of 1 hour in length combined, including Q&A – audiences will only be able to concentrate for this long before needing a break, and an hour fits in nicely with a lunch hour or a hectic schedule. 12:00-14:00 – set your webinar ideally in the lunch hour you will be more likely to get attendees on the webinar and attract an international audience. Check the time differences if you are looking to attract a particular country.What sort of equipment/setup will I need?You will need headsets/microphones and speakers for all presenters, good internet connection and a basic computer set up.What do I need to remember when thinking about hosting a web event?Web events won’t replace all the benefits a member could receive from a live event but it does give you a platform on which to branch out to members who are not able to access your live events and to share a presentation on a smaller scale. Find an engaging speaker one who is interesting to listen to and is enthusiastic about the topic you are discussing. Make sure the information is concise but informative and don’t forget to include details about how to get more information/who to contact. ................
