Planning a Trip

You and a friend have decided that you are going to New York City for a 6 night, 7 day vacation. While you are in New York City, you have many different places that you want to go and things you want to see. Your budget for this trip is $4500.00 for two people. $1000.00 of this money has to be budgeted for food….so do the math….you only have $3500.00 for the rest of the trip, so plan accordingly!

Remember: NYC has a sales tax rate of 8.875% for hotel rooms, admission to places of amusement, personal property, etc.

I want to know the price and the website used for the following things to do and see while in NYC. You and your partner will create an Excel spreadsheet to budget your trip. When your trip is completed, you will create a pie chart outlining the expenses of your trip.

Remember: you must stay under budget and you must do everything on your wish list in order to complete the assignment.

Example of Excel Spreadsheet:

|Name of Event |Price of Event |Website |

|2 Tickets to Giants Game |$257.00 | |

|2 Tickets to Statue of Liberty |$42.00 | |

Find the prices and the website for the following items for your trip:

• 6 Nights Lodging in Manhattan (has to be in Manhattan)
