End of Novel ActivitiesOutsiders by S.E HintonWeek 10: June 10th - June 19th Congratulations – you have finished The Outsiders novel. Here are the student choice activities to finish off your Novel Study Project. Make sure you have completed and turned-in all 9 weeks of chapter questions by the 19th of June as well as this final assignment.Please choose TWO of the following 14 activities listed below to complete. Make sure you include many details and all the important information from the novel to demonstrate your understanding of characters, plot, setting, theme and conflict.Create a “Slang Dictionary.” Skim through the chapters and write down all the slang words you find and what they actually mean. Then put them in alphabetical order and create a dictionary. You may be creative and use whatever materials are available. Example: “heater” is a noun that means a gun, “weed” is a noun that means cigarette. Title the Chapters. None of the chapters have titles. Look back through each chapter and create a suitable title for all 12 chapters. Be creative and make sure to include a quick summary of what the chapter is about in your title. Create an Ad. Create a poster advertisement trying to sell The Outsiders to interested readers. Make sure to include details about the book that would interest someone that may want to buy the book. Be creative and use the materials that are available to you. You may want to sketch out a rough draft first.Movie Review. Write a one page movie review of The Outsiders. Make sure to include whether you give it 4 stars or 2 thumbs up or down and why. Be creative and include the movie star’s names and the character’s names. Create a rough draft first and then a final copy.Create a Comic Strip. Choose a chapter with the most action and create a comic strip that portrays the events in that chapter. Be creative. You may choose chapter 4, the murder scene; Chapter 6, the church fire scene; Chapter 9, the rumble scene; or Chapter 10, the scene where Dally dies.Write a Poem. Choose one of the themes from The Outsiders and create an original poem that highlights some of the events in the novel. Your poem must be at least 10 lines. Your poem can be in any format: freestyle, acrostic, a series of haikus, sonnet, slam...Write a New Ending. Pretend that there is more to the novel and Ponyboy is not done telling his story.
