Arguably one of the best movies ever made? For those who haven’t seen it, I’ll play the trailer for you.(5-6) Get the classes opinions on the movie quickly. Link to prior learning:(6-8) The last few lessons we have been learning about the key elements of a movie review. How they are structured and what they must include. Today we will put this in to practice. Lesson development (Please list all strategies, key points & key questions)(8-12) I have created a podcast movie review of Princess Dairies. It is missing one key element of a movie review. Students must close their book and listen to the review. At the end we will try and identify the missing element. (12-40) Put projector on freeze setting from the last lesson PowerPoint which lists all 6 key elements of a movie review. Students must create a movie review podcast of one of their favourite/ or least favourite movies. Using their laptops, they can take notes on key parts of their review. They must then record their podcasts on their laptops. (Split up into different areas of the room for recording). If there is a teacher’s aide, get them to take a small group outside when it comes time for recording. The podcasts must be between 2-5 minutes long. They need to upload the podcasts once they are finished and email the link to the teacher Lesson closure: (To review, share, recap learning)(40-45) Bring the class all back to their seats and play one of the students podcasts that they recorded in the lesson (If students finish early play more than one). (45-49) Recap on the required elements of a movie review one more. (49-50) Affirm the students for their work during the class.
