PHI relates to the past, present, and future physical or mental health of any individual or recipient; the provision of healthcare to an individual; or the past, present, or future payment for the provision of healthcare to an individual. Once the Trading Partner Registration is complete, the provider would obtain access to the Health PAS Provider Enrollment online application.The following section provides a list of information to have before starting the trading partner registration process and a detailed description of how to complete each step of the registration process.For those providers enrolled in the state Medicaid program, please see the Health PAS OnLine Trading Partner Registration User Guide for Enrolled Billing Providers for instructions. Information You Will NeedIt is suggested that you will need the following information prior to registering as a trading partner:Name, business address, business telephone number, and email address for the person who is completing the trading partner registration.This person will be the Account Administrator for the trading partner account for the billing provider.A provider cannot complete the online enrollment application until the trading partner registration form is completed.We recommend having the following information but they are not requirements for providers that are not enrolled in the state Medicaid program. However, the information will be needed to complete other forms pertaining to enrollment for submitting claims.Tax ID, either Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) or Social Security number (SSN), the National Provider Identifier (NPI) or Atypical Provider Identifier (API).Once the trading partner registration form is complete, this enables not yet enrolled providers to perform certain actions such as being able to complete the Provider Enrollment application.System RequirementsTo use all features of the Health PAS-OnLine portal successfully, ensure that your computer system meets the following minimum requirements:Reliable online connectionWeb browserInternet Explorer 8 and 9Mozilla Firefox 18.0Google Chrome 24.0.1312.57Safari 5.1.7Adobe Acrobat ReaderMicrosoft ExcelPublic NavigationThe following windows of Health PAS-OnLine are accessible to all visitors: Home, News, and Contact Us. Figure STYLEREF 1 \s 5.1 – Health PAS-Trading Partner Registration windowThe Demographic Information window displays.Step 1 – Demographic InformationThe first step of the trading partner registration process is to provide your demographic information.All fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required fields.To provide your demographic information, follow these steps:From the Register As drop-down list, select Provider-Not Yet Enrolled. Refer to REF _Ref402274580 \h Figure 5.2.In the First Name field, enter your first name.In the Last Name field, enter your last name.While only first and last names fields are required, you can also indicate the middle initial and a title.In the Company Name field, enter your company name.In the Address 1 field, enter the first line of your business address. In the Address 2 field, enter the second line of your business address. In the City, State, ZIP, and Country fields, enter the appropriate information for your business address. The City, State, and ZIP fields are required.In the Telephone field, provide your business phone number, including area code. The password may not contain spaces.In the Re-enter Password field, re-enter the password exactly as it was entered in the previous field.In the Email Address field, enter a valid email address.A confirmation email will be sent to this address, so it is important that the address is valid.In the Re-enter Email Address field, re-enter the email address exactly as it was entered in the previous field.In the Security Question field, enter a confidential question to which only you know the answer. For example, “What street did I grow up on?” or “What is my mother’s maiden name?”In the Security Answer field, enter the answer to your security question.The security question will be used if your password needs to be reset or to retrieve your user name. To sign the Trading Partner Agreement, complete the following steps:If you agree to the terms and conditions of the agreement, select the Yes, I agree to the above terms and conditions check box.In the Signature field, enter your first and last name. A hint displays that provides the First Name, Last name that was entered. An email containing your trading partner ID will be sent to the email address provided in Step 2. From the Trading Partner Sign In section, trading partners can do the following:Sign into their trading partner accountReset their passwordRetrieve their user nameTrading Partner Sign InAfter the trading partner registration process is complete and the trading partner account has been activated, users can sign into the secure portion of the Health PAS-OnLine portal. To sign into the secure portion of the Health PAS-OnLine portal, follow the steps below:In the User Name field, in the Trading Partner Sign In section, enter your user name.In the Password field, enter your password.Review the Attention HIPAA PHI disclaimer and select the I accept check box to Accept.Click SIGN IN. Refer to REF _Ref402336041 \h Figure 6.1.When signing out of your trading partner account, do not click the X in the upper right-hand corner of the Internet Explorer window. This closes the window, but leaves your trading partner ID signed in. The Trading Partner tab and Account maintenance tab displays along the home tab after sign in. The trading partner ID and user name shows in the upper right-hand corner. This closes the window, but leaves your trading partner ID signed in. You will be prompted to change your password when you sign into your trading partner account after a 35-day period.If you need to reset the password for your trading partner account before you are prompted, follow the steps below:All fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required fields.In the Trading Partner Sign In section of the window, click the Retrieve hyperlink at the Forgot Password? question prompt. Click CONTINUE.
