Entergy Nuclear Northeast Operates the Indian Point Energy Center, located in Buchanan, New York. Indian Point 2 was purchased from Con Ed in 2001. Indian Point 3 was purchased from New York Power Authority in 2000. The two Pressurized Water Reactors generate 2067 MWe of power.

Positions required:

Seeking to fill positions at Indian Point’s System Engineering organization:

1. Electrical Engineer – experience with any of the following systems will be considered

a. AC/DC Electrical distribution (High, Medium and Low Voltage)

b. Instrumentation and Controls

c. Generator Excitation Systems

d. Breaker and Switchgear Maintenance

e. Large Motor Maintenance and Predictive Trending

2. Balance of Plant Engineer – experience with any of the following systems will be considered:

a. Nuclear/Conventional HVAC

b. Service Water/River Water and Intake Structure

c. Secondary side Main and Auxiliary Steam Systems

d. Compressed Air Systems

e. Main Turbine and Generator

Description:

Responsible for providing technical expertise/support for the maintenance and operation of nuclear plant systems and components. Tasks include system/component health reporting, apparent cause evaluations, system/component walkdowns, trending/monitoring of system and component parameters, administration of Maintenance Rule, providing input and recommendations for preventive maintenance strategy and scheduling , support of maintenance activities and troubleshooting, system improvement and long range planning.  

 

Responsible for engineering tasks and application of engineering principals which require broad experience in nuclear plant engineering, fossil plant engineering or ship propulsion plant engineering. Independently performs highly complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations. 

Qualifications: 

Minimum of five (5) years experience as an Engineer in the power generation field. Works independently with broad supervisory oversight and has latitude to exercise decision making and judgment. Can effectively communicate and perform the lead role in a group situation to resolve problems or coordinate troubleshooting and task implementation. Bachelor of Science in Engineering required (prior nuclear technical experience will be considered).

Entry level individuals will be considered for these positions based on academic performance and obtaining USCG 3rd Assistant Engineer’s License.
