Environmental Issues Research Project

Objective: As we have learned in class, there are many issues that our planet Earth faces every day. Most all of these issues are because of our choices and ways of living. Your job in this project is to pick an environmental issue that is of interest to you. You will conduct research in order to inform your fellow classmates of the issue and why it is so important in today’s world.

OPTION 1: WORKING INDEPENDENTLY

• Task #1: Research: Fill out everything on your research page in order to get all the information you need for your formal report.

• Task #2: Formal Report (typed or written): Use the research information you have found to either write out or type up a formal report. There are 9 questions on your research page. Choose 6 of these questions to use on your formal report. 6 questions means at least 6 paragraphs in your report

i. Resources: Be sure to keep track of all the websites, books, articles (etc.) that you use for information. Make a list of resources at the end of your report.

• Task #3: Final Product: Use ALL of your k knowledge you have gathered to make your final product. You can choose any of these options in order to inform people about your research. Show your peers that you care about the topic you have chosen.

• Campaign Speech

• Informational Brochure

• Movie

• Power Point Presentation (max. 20 slides/ min. 10)

• Other. . . .(let me know of other ideas you may have)

• Task #4: Presentation: No more than 5 minutes per presentation. Your objective is to get your peer’s to care about your issue and to persuade them to want to help.

OPTION 2: WORK WITH PARTNERS (Max. of 3 people)

• Task #1: Research: EVERYONE in the group must fill out their research page in order to get full points. A friendly suggestion would be to split up the research questions then share what you have found with the group.

• Task #2: Formal Report (typed or written): ONE REPORT PER GROUP!!! Use the research information you have found to either write out or type up a formal report. There are 9 questions on your research page so this means there will be 9 paragraphs total in your report.

• Task #3: Advertisement: Make some kind of advertisement to promote your Environmental issue to the public. This can be done with (not limited to):

• Bill Board

• Wanted Poster

• Flyers

• Bumper Sticker

• Post Card

• Other . . . (go to Microsoft publishing for ideas)

❖ Your advertisement should include something informative and interesting that you found out from your research and should be in color!!!!

• Task #4: Final Product: Use ALL of your k knowledge you have gathered to make your final product. You can choose any of these options in order to inform people about your research. Show your peers that you care about the topic you have chosen.
