Michael Earl MyersMED 504Integrated Technology Lesson Plan #2September 12, 2008This lesson plan was created this week because I had to adjust for my Senior English class.? Next week is ISTEP testing for the sophomores and I will be proctoring the test for three days.? This will take me away from my seniors for three days and I needed to give them a project to complete while I am away.? We have already completed the reading of Middle Age and modern ballads along with viewing modern musical ballads on YouTube.? Our purpose during the YouTube experiment was for me to model and inform the students of how to search and locate ballads.? We explored the website digitaldreamdoor.pages/best_balladsddd.html?to assist in listening to modern rock ballads (over 100 songs to listen and view at this site).? Students were also instructed to listen to the lyrics for hidden meanings or make inferences to what the artist was trying to say with their ballad.? The writing assessment in the lesson plan explains what my students will be doing by the OWL at Purdue will be a key to source in their exploration and set-up of analyzing the ballads. On a personal note, I was able to hook my PC up to the LCD projector and I had no issues or problems while modeling the technology search and viewing of music.? After this project?my seniors will move into? The Canterbury Tales.??LESSON PLAN?Ballads ~ Middle Ages and Modern Influence?Lord RandallGet Up and Bar the DoorEdward, EdwardFrankie and JohnnyBonnie Barbara Allan?Modern Musical BalladsMr. Myers has some of his Ballads and one from his Wife?and Parents linked at the bottom of the lesson plan?Pacing___ 8-10 days?Skills FocusLiterary SkillsListening and Speaking SkillsWriting Skills?
