POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

|POSITION: |ADULT EDUCATION/ESL – teacher (PART-TIME) MULTIPLE HIRE |

|PRIMARY LOCATION: |Paul M. Starnes Center |

| |1085 Montreal Road, Clarkston, GA 30021 |

| |Hours Vary – Day or Evening – Up to 19.5/week |

|DESCRIPTION: |Enrolls, instructs, and supervises International students with limited English proficiency in English as a Second |

| |Language (ESL) multi-level class. Develops program and course outlines, adhering to Technical College System of |

| |Georgia Curriculum Framework. Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives. Develops teaching methods |

| |and maintains classroom management procedures and documentation. Assists with recruitment and retention. Ensures |

| |safety and security requirements are met. Attends in-service training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Oversees |

| |classroom volunteers. |

|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |A degree from an accredited college or university *and* completed course comparable with the curriculum taught *OR* |

| |experience/expertise in the area of curriculum taught. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate |

| |accrediting bodies for the courses assigned. |

| | |

|PREFERRED |Work experience in Adult Education or English as a Second Language instruction OR paid or volunteer experience working|

|salary/benefits: |The salary range for this position is $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, determined by education. Adult Education Instructors |

| |are temporary positions, scheduled based on class needs of the college and employment is not guaranteed. Adult |

| |Education Instructors do not receive benefits. Adult Education Teachers work on a per-term basis, therefore future |

| |courses are not assured. Georgia Defined Contributions and taxes will be deducted. |
