Robert A Leonard Jr. Scholarship- Education is a tool of successful living. Knowledge gained from higher learning provides youth with resources to prepare them for life. The Robert A. Leonard Jr. Charitable Trust gives youth an opportunity for higher education and works with families to ensure the students finish well. Application is available in the Counseling Office.

Robert Edward Lang Scholarship- This scholarship is sponsored by the Greater Detroit Chapter of the United Nations Association (GDUNA). The fund awards $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in Metropolitan Detroit pursuing a degree related to international studies at an accredited college or university.

Rosa Parks Scholarship- The Rosa Parks Foundation offers a $2,000, non-renewable scholarship to Michigan High School graduating senior. Winners are selected on the basis of scholarship, leadership, financial need, and dedication to the civil rights principles of Rosa L. Parks, whose historic stand against racial prejudice in 1955 brought her national recognition. The Foundation was established in 1980 to provide equal- opportunity scholarships to Michigan High School seniors. Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Program Scholarship-The Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholarship Program provides scholarships for talented, high-achieving young women from the Midwest to participate in academic summer programs at some of the country’s top colleges. Scholarships are awarded based on merit and financial needs.

Society of Women Engineers for Community Colleges- Josie Rewald Memorial scholarship is a scholarship focused on female students pursuing their engineering education at a community college. Applicants must be: Entering or enrolled in a full-time community college program which articulates/transfers to an ABET-accredited engineering program, and a resident of Michigan.

American Chemical Society Scholars Program- $5,000-350 Awards Be a graduating high school senior, Be African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino or American Indian. Apply online

University of Michigan Dearborn- For students who are attending University of Michigan Dearborn.

Troy Women Association Scholarship- The Troy Women Association, a non-profit organization, will award $10,000 in educational scholarships to local women who demonstrate a commitment to serving their community and/or demonstrate a financial need. Two categories of scholarship applications are now available for graduating seniors. Scholarship applications are due by March 4, 2020 and will be applied to college, university, or trade school tuition for the 2020-2021 academic year. Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship Program- Lockheed Martin is awarding 200 renewable scholarships of $10,000 each. Awards are open to individuals studying eligible engineering or computer science major, who demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. Gamma Lambda Education Foundation- Graduate from a Metropolitan Detroit Area High School, Grade-point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, Acceptance into an accredited four-year institution of higher learning, African-American male, Participation in the Gamma Lambda Education Foundation Scholarship Program and related activities sponsored and/or approved by the Gamma Lambda Education Foundation. David’s Faith and Hope for Life Foundation- The David Barns Scholarship will be awarded to a male and female high school seniors that represent David’s academic excellence, athletic prowess, and commitment to the community. The scholarship will provide $2,500 of financial assistance for college tuition. Additionally, the scholarship is eligible for renewal for three years, assuming good academic standing, continued community involvement, and a service commitment to the Foundation. Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan- The Community Foundation manages more than 20 scholarship funds directly through their single-step online application process. Students only have to submit one application via the online portal, which confirms their scholarship eligibility for all the programs that the Community Foundation oversees. Troy Community Lions Scholarship- The Troy Community Lions will be offering two $1000 college scholarships to graduating seniors. They must reside in Troy, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and plan to attend college in September 2020. You can get application online at

AAA School Safety Patrol Scholarship – Four $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to graduating seniors who served as AAA School Safety Patrol members in Michigan. Students must submit documents of AAA School Safety Patrol participation, good academic standing and a strong record of participation in the community and extra-curricular activities. Automotive Aftermarket Scholarship- The University of the Aftermarket Foundation operates the Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships Central website and, along with more than 40 other automotive organizations and donors, awards scholarships to students who apply online at Available scholarships range from $1,000-$10,000 and will be awarded to students attending college and ASE/NATEF certified post-secondary Automotive, Collision, HD, or Alternate Fuel programs.

Michigan State University Alumni Club of Oakland County- This is for seniors who have been accepted for study and plan to attend Michigan State University for the 2020-2021 school year. The award is $2,000.00 it is based on grades, test scores, recommendations, comments made by the student and his counselor as well as an interview. Lighthouse Guild- Lighthouse Guild offers an annual scholarship program for college-bound high school and graduate students who are legally blind. Apply online scholarships

Donovan Xavier Baker Scholarship- The scholarship offered to African American male ages 17-22 to assist in post high school education. Go to the Review the qualifications and tell them your story explaining why furthering your education is important to you.

Credit Union One Scholarship- Complete 30 or more hours of community service, be a 2020 graduating high school senior, be a member of a family that belongs to Credit Union One of Michigan, grade point 3.0

The Officer Collin Rose Memorial Foundation Scholarship- Award $1,000- The Officer Rose Memorial Foundation Scholarship honors the memory of fallen Wayne State University Police Officer Collin Rose. He was murdered while on a street investigation in Detroit in November 2016. He was pursuing a master’s degree from the university at the time of his death. This scholarship may be renewed once for the following academic year. Student must request renewal by April 1 the academic year of the initial award and show proof of continued enrollment in one of the eligible fields of study while maintaining passing grades. Applicant shall be majoring in mediation, dispute resolution, criminal justice, law enforcement, firefighting or paramedic services. Michigan Retailers Association- They will be awarding 19 scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,000. The awards are not based on financial need. Maggie Miller Scholarship- Students going to University of Michigan- The 2020 MACAC Maggie Miller Scholarship is now available! This year, they have a new essay prompt. Essay- Either a 3-minute video essay or 750 word or less written essay. Students are required to read “Maggie Story” and then select one of two essay prompts. Ashley’s Dream & George Ku Memorial Scholarship- Each applicant is to write an essay, up to 500 words, explaining to them how you are advocating against the danger of drinking and driving. Convince them in 500 words that you are actively making your friends, family, community, and our roads a safer place. One winner will be selected and awarded a $4,000 scholarship. Annemarie Martz Memorial Scholarship- Offering one $5,000 scholarship for attendance at Oakland University to deserving THS graduate with exemplary record of service to others. Applications available in the Counseling Office. Return to Mrs. Wesley in the Counseling Office.

Sara Violet Foundation Scholarship for Science or Engineering- This scholarship honors the life of Sara Violet Guenther, who was a member of the Troy High Class of 2011. It aims to keep Sara’s spirit alive by inspiring others to see the world through a lens of creativity and curiosity. Please visit to learn more about Sara. Robert A. Schuele Scholarship- The fund was established to honor the life of a friend, a family man, and a business professional. The intention of the Robert A. Schuele Scholarship Fund is to grant a scholarship award in an amount that will secure the attendance of a student at a major college or university in Michigan. The Trustees are searching for an application who has outstanding character, demonstrated commitment to academic studies, significant financial need and who will take advantage of the mentoring and networking resources the Trustees intend to offer to maximize the recipient’s educational experience. The Aveek Guha Memorial Scholarship- (Bayer Family Foundation Scholarship) Offering one $10,000 scholarship. The student will be attending The University of Michigan full time (either in Ann Arbor, Flint or Dearborn) They are looking to help someone with financial burden of college. This gives them an opportunity to not be stressed out their first year there and be able to focus on getting acclimated. The student had to work in high school and could not be in as many activities in high school. The winner will not necessarily have the highest GPA. Application available in the Counseling Office. Student -View Scholarship Program- The 2020 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to High School seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. The program includes: One $4,000 scholarship, Two $1,000 scholarship, Ten $500 scholarship. Simply log on to student- and complete a 15-20-minute application survey about colleges in your area. Bayer Family Foundation Scholarship- Offering two $10,000 scholarships for attendance at the University of Michigan. Financial need for one who will be attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Special consideration will be provided for those with multiple siblings attending college at the same time. Martell Alumni Scholarship- The staff at Martell has always believed in the education of young people. Their goal has been to prepare students for the challenges they will be facing in the years to come. This scholarship will be a one-time grant of $500 to be used for post High School education. The applicant must: Have attended Martell Elementary, graduating senior at Troy High, have maintained a 2.0 grade point average or higher, be planning on attending a post High School education. Leila Kristine Armin Scholarship Foundation- In honor of Leila’s memory, two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually to senior ranking, college-bound female students at Troy High. Jim Burns Memorial Scholarship- The Jim Burns Memorial Scholarship seeks to support a college-bound, Troy High Senior who has suffered the loss of a parent, stepparent, or guardian with a one-year award of $1,000. Visionary Scholarship Program- Awards multiple winners ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 Eligible High School Students Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors

Chancellor’s Scholarship – For Oakland Community College- They are offering 100 non-competitive scholarships to Oakland County’s high school graduates that will pay for the first year of a student degree. Visit their webpage at

B. Davis Scholarship- This scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post-secondary institution. There are no age restrictions. Be sure to include your name and the school you ae attending this year and next. This is not an academic scholarship, but they would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are. To apply for this scholarship, you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on this topic:

PB & Scholarship Fund- The scholarship is focused on helping students whose test scores or GPAs might not be the best but have the drive to succeed. Students can apply using the link . It got started because of a student attended a high school in Hawaii and was determined to go to college but test scores and GPA were so low, so got rejected a lot. They want to give back to future students. They lived off PB & J sandwiches during their first year in college. Amount: $500-$1,000. Open to all college- bound seniors at Troy High. Attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year college in fall 2020.

The American Prospect High School Essay Contest to Engage High School Students on How to Create a More Inclusive Economy- The American Prospect magazine, in partnership with Omidyar Network, announces the first annual American Prospect Essay Contest. Many Americans are considering how to create a more inclusive economy. This competition will give high school students the opportunity to read and reflect on one of four renowned books exploring how the economy works in terms of poverty, race, markets, and democracy. The student’s essays will explore where the economy falls short and what we might do about it. Prizes total $30.000: First place for juniors and seniors is $10,000; second place $5,000; third place $2,500. First place for freshmen and sophomores is $5,000; second place $2,500; third place $1,000. Forty honorable mentions will be awarded at $100 each. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4037 Art Contest- Each year, more than 3,500 high school students from across the country participate in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest.
