RHS Band to Disney World – March 14 –18, 2019Disney Pop Century Resort - 134 PassengersWed. March 13 – RHS Lobby and Bus Loop6:00 – 7:30 PM – Luggage Check and Equipment Truck loading.Report to the lobby and have bag checked and turn in $5 for maid tip. Bring your instrument, with music if needed and flip folder with you to check in. Each item must have an address tag. I will provide tags for the instruments that are Radnor's. Then you take your instrument and luggage out to the two waiting trucks. Luggage on one and equipment on the other. All jazz instruments will be held off to the side, to go on the truck last. You are responsible for getting your own equipment on the truck. Please limit your bag so it is not huge to save space. Snacks may go in your suitcase.Thurs. March 14 – 3:30 PM - Report to the Bus loop and board assigned buses, Chaperones will check that you have your ID, and check carry-on luggage. No drinks can be in your bags at all. All liquids under 3 ounces needs to be in a sandwich bag to speed the security process. Visit the TSA website for what is allowed in carry on. You may bring an empty water bottle and fill it once we are through security. One small carry-on is allowed, and one personal item (like a purse). 4:15 PM - Depart for Airport by Radnor Buses 5:00 – 5:30 PM depending on traffic arrive at PHL. Luggage will be on side walk. Pick up your own personal luggage and step to the side. Travel company will give you your boarding pass, and your luggage sticker will be on the boarding pass. Remove the luggage sticker and place on your suitcase and proceed to designated area with skycab to drop off luggage. It is customary to tip the sky cab $2.00 so please have ones available. Proceed up the escalator and make a right and wait for the group to gather. We will proceed through security and meet at the assigned gate. Do not get food, do not go to the bathroom, do not walk away. We will take role and then determine if there is time to get stuff. No peanut products on the plane please due to a peanut airborne allergy. Let's all just skip anything peanut all on the trip to avoid problems. 7:00 PM - Boarding begins for Southwest flight #1210 departs at 7:35 PM, get in line next to who you want to sit with and fill in all seats, from back to front. There will be approximately 9 other people that bought seats on our plane since we did not fill it. They will go first. Plane has 3 seats on each side. All seats must be filled.10:10 PM - arrive at MCO, proceed to tram to luggage pickup, we will announce where it is. Then when we all have claimed our suitcases, we will all go together to Disney Magical Express. Disney may have enough buses for us to travel together but we may have to wait until the next bus comes, don’t worry they run every 10 minutes. Suitcases go under Magical express. When we arrive at hotel, we will quietly walk to our building and meet our Representative, who will give us our magic bands and room assignments. Go directly to your room and be quiet people will be sleeping. Room check will begin as soon as all students have gotten into their rooms. Once your rooms have been checked and taped you may not even open the door. If the tape is broken, then the whole room will be responsible for going out. If there is an emergency call Maria or Mr. Drew or your chaperones. Numbers will be provided later. Meal tickets for the next day given at room check.11:00 PM to 5:00 AM - Private Security team on duty.Friday March 15 – Performance Day. Extra Magic hours MK 8 am to 9 am7:00 AM - or earlier if you dare – wake up and eat breakfast or go straight to the parks, but beware, breakfast is very hard to get in MK. There is a Starbucks who takes Starbucks gift cards, but not your Disney gift card. You get $12 for breakfast each day on a card, it transfers to other food items if you don’t use it all you can use it for snacks and drinks. You will also get one meal voucher for dinner, good for Drink, Entre with one side or combo platter and a dessert. Lunch will need to be paid for by yourself. If you want to use the voucher for lunch that’s fine, but then you will have to pay for dinner. (only do this if you have a reservation for a sit-down meal, the meal coupons are not good for sit down, only quick service restaurants listed on the back). You must leave your room as a group all members must physically go to their chaperone room and turn it their Magic bands, they are your room keys, in exchange you will get your park ticket. You must do this by 8AM, but you don’t have to go to the park then. Everyone must take a picture of the back of their card in case they lose it. If you lose your card go to any guest relations and get a new card with the photo. Your park ticket is your entrance into the park and your fast pass swipe. Tap the card at Fast pass entrances and wait until it turns green for entrance. You can go back to the pool to swim, only the pool at our building but you will not have access to your rooms during the day. Towels and changing facilities are available at the pool. Bring what you want for the day in a cinch bag and a Ziploc bag to put a wet suit in if you plan on swimming. The hotel will give me a list of any of our doors that were opened while we were out or request to open them, so don’t even try. I don’t suggest that you swim today due to our performance in the parks, but the other days are fine. If you want to swim in the morning before you go to the parks, it will work the same way, check out, get your ticket, turn in your Magic band and then you can swim and change in the pool house. Transfer to Magic Kingdom using Disney bus stops. 4:45 PM - meet at the gate between Splash Mountain and Golden Oak Outpost. in Frontierland, don’t be late.5:00 PM -go backstage with Disney cast member, unload truck, change and get Mickey hats. We are wearing our ears in the parade instead of our hats. We are on our best behavior backstage, manors and language should always be exemplary.6:30 PM – Marching Band Performance. After parade change and re- enter park; load equipment truck with Jazz instruments and clothes to the front of truck.9:15 Happily Ever After Fireworks and show on the castle.10:00 depart MK on Disney buses to resort11:00 PM Room Check – I hope you had a Magical Day! Check in at chaps as soon as you arrive to obtain magic bands as room keys and turn in ticket.11:00 PM to 5:00 AM – Security team on dutySaturday March 16 - Extra Magic Hours at Animal Kingdom 8:AM to 9 AM (suggest some extra time at AK since last day is limited.)7 AM – Rise and shine, check in with Chap by 8AM. Same routine as always. Any park but suggested AK in Morning then Epcot, afternoon and Evening.Ticket is a park hopper, you may go to any of the 4 parks, or Disney Springs. Water Parks are not included, but you may go if you want to pay for it. Remember you will not have access back into your room.Breakfast card and meal dinner coupon provided for meals. Lunch paid for by you.9:00 PM Illuminations reflections of Earth- leaving in the fall so watch it one last time. 9:30 depart for Resort using Disney transportation.10:30 Room Check, check in at chaps as soon as you arrive to obtain magic bands as room keys and turn in ticket.11:00 PM to 5:00 AM – Security team on dutySunday March 17 - 7 AM – Rise and shine, check in with Chap by 8AM. Same routine as always. Hollywood Studios Extra Magic hours 8 AM to 9 AM.Any park of your choosing, but Hollywood Studios is suggested.Breakfast card and meal dinner coupon provided for meals. Lunch paid for by you.8:30 PM – Fantasmic (must wait in Line, Capacity Controlled)9:00 PM – depart for Resort using Disney Transportation10:30 Room Check, check in at chaps as soon as you arrive to obtain magic bands as room keys and turn in ticket. Pack tonight.11:00 PM to 5:00 AM – Security team on dutyMonday March 18 – Honors Jazz Performance Day & Check out6:30 AM – Rise and Shine, clean room and gather belongings.7:15 AM – Room Checks start, pack luggage and carry on onto Enterprise truck, you will be able to access them at the airport.Equipment Truck packs for Performance then home after performance.Breakfast card and Lunch coupon provided for meals. Dinner on you at airport.Everyone uses Disney transportation to Animal Kingdom. We are being picked up there, so we all must go to that park today.1:15 PM – Mr. Drew, Mr. Scinto, Mr. Piatek along with Honors Jazz members board Bus C for transfer backstage Disney Springs.1:15 PM – Everyone else boards 2 Mears buses A & B, Drop off at Strawberry Lot at Disney Springs.1:15 PM – Equipment Truck to Backstage to meet Honors Jazz3:30 PM – Honors Jazz Performance at Disney Springs Market Place Stage, right across form the World of Disney gift shop.3:50 PM –Honors Jazz to change and be release back into Disney Springs, on bus at Strawberry Lot. Truck departs for home.4:45 PM – Everyone report to Strawberry Lot in Disney Springs by Cirque du Soleil, board assigned bus and transfer to Orlando International Airport. Make sure you have your id on you.8:00 PM Southwest flight #922 departs Orlando, arrives Philadelphia at 10:25 PM. Collect luggage and load luggage truck. Board buses and go home.11:15 PM – Arrive RHS, unload luggage and go home. I know its late but remember everyone must attend school the next day on time to avoid any issues. I know you will be tired, you can sleep on the plane, but the most important thing is to sleep at night. Eating correctly, drinking lots of water and sleep will make this trip much more enjoyable. Wednesday March 20 - 10:45 AM – Equipment truck back from Florida. Report to band and unload the truck, please put everything away in its spot. ................
