|PHASE II STABILIZATION PROJECT |

|The City of Fall River, Massachusetts, by its purchasing department, on behalf of the awarding authority the Watuppa Water Board, will receive filed sub-bids for the 1875 Pumping Station and |

|Standpipe Tower, Phase II Exterior Stabilization Project located at #1801 Bedford Street, in the City of Fall River, Massachusetts, up to 11 AM., Local Time, Tuesday January 20, 2015 with |

|General Contractor Bids to follow up to 11 AM., Local Time, Thursday, January 29, 2015. Bids are received at the Office of the Purchasing Agent, One Government Center, Room 234, Fall River, MA|

|02722. The scope of work includes stabilization of a single-story, twelve thousand square foot masonry building (the Pumping Station) and an approximately one hundred and fifteen foot tall |

|masonry building (the Standpipe Tower). A payment bond and performance bond of not less than the amount of the contract, with satisfactory surety, for faithfully doing the work will be |

|required. |

|The property is listed in the State and National Registers of Historic Places, and the work being undertaken is being partially funded through a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation |

|Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. |

|The General Contractor shall be DCAM certified in Historical Building Restoration. The filed sub-bidder DCAM certification categories for this project are as follows: Historical Masonry, |

|Historical Roofing. |

|Plans and specs will be available beginning Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at the Office of the Purchasing Agent, One Government Center, Room 234, Fall River, MA 02722. One bid set may be |

|obtained from the source noted. Bidders may obtain one full set of paper drawings and specifications and/or a digital set of drawings and specifications. |

|The Bids must be filled out and signed as directed therein, sealed in an envelope addressed to Office of the Purchasing Agent, One Government Center, Room 234, Fall River, MA 02722 endorsed |

|with the name and address of the bidder, and marked "Proposal for "1875 Pumping Station and Standpipe Tower Phase II Exterior Stabilization" and left with either a bid bond in accordance with |

|Chapter 30, Section 39M or Chapter 149, Section 44B or a certified treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank, for 5 percent of the value of the proposed work payable to the |

|City of Fall River, Massachusetts, up to 11 AM., Local Time, Tuesday January 20, 2015 for filed sub-bids and up to 11 AM., Local Time, Thursday January 29, 2015 for General Bids, at the Office|

|of the Purchasing Agent, One Government Center, Room 234, Fall River, MA 02722, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. This check to be the property of said City if the |

|Bidder fails to execute the contract and satisfactory bond within ten (10) days after the contract may have been awarded to him. |

|Attention is called to the fact that State Prevailing Wage Rates are established for the project as set forth in the contract documents. |

|The bidder shall start the work under the contract within thirty (30) calendar days excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, after the date of the contract, and respond to the scheduling |

|needs of the project. |

|The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids should it deem it to be in the public interest to do so. |

|No Bid may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the opening of bids. |

|Bidders are informed that all of the above referenced work as specified herein and shown on the Drawings must be complete and ready for the Owner eighteen weeks from start of work. |

|Furthermore, a minimum of $200,000 of the project must be completed by June 30th, 2015 in order to secure grant funding from the Massachusetts Historical Commission. |
