INTAKE/POLICIES1. _____ NO ALCOHOL, ILLEGAL DRUGS OR DRUG PARAPHENALIA, GUNS, WEAPONS ORKNIVES will be in possession or used by students of Promises of God Recovery. This includes both on and offRecovery property, in POGR vehicles, and on pass. The use or possession of these (anywhere or anytime) while in Promises of God Recovery programs will result in termination from the program and may result in prosecution. Breathalyzers and drug tests will be conducted on an unscheduled, periodic basis. Refusal to be tested will result in immediate dismissal from the program.2. _____ GAMBLING including for cash and or any other items will not be permitted. Violation of this policywill be grounds for immediate termination from the program. 3. _____ NO PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIAL is allowed on Promises of God Recovery property. This includesvideo, magazine, tape, compact disc or poster. If such material is found on Promises of God Recovery property it will be confiscated and disposed of immediately. All literature is subject to the approval of the Director. Clients discovered in the possession of such materials will be dismissed from the program.4._____ NO PROFANITY is allowed while in a recovery program at Promises of God Recovery. Cursing,swearing, crude or inappropriate language will result in discipline up to and including termination from theprogram.5. _____ NO LEWD, SUGGESTIVE OR INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHING or clothing advertising alcohol,tobacco, illegal drugs, sex, violence or profanity will be allowed. This includes shorts above mid-thigh, muscleshirts or strap-type T-shirts. No shorts, pajamas, or flip-flops will be allowed outside the dormitory. Plain whitetee shirts are considered to be underwear and are not allowed to be worn outside the dormitory. No earrings orother exposed piercing allowed while in the program.6. _____NO PERSONAL RADIOS, headphones, CD players, portable games, or other player devices areallowed while a student of Promises of God Recovery. Listening to music in work spaces are restricted to Christian music (no other type will be permitted), also listening to music may not interfere with safety, when operating equipment. Any electrical devices (hair trimmers and shavers) must be approved by the Director.7. _____ NO CELL PHONES are permitted during the recovery program. Possession of a cell phone will because for immediate dismissal from the program.8. _____ NO BORROWING OR LOANING MONEY. Students shall not borrow from or loan money toother Students, or to Employees and Volunteers of the mission. Selling or Trading of ANY personal propertybetween students is forbidden. Bartering services (i.e., mechanic work, laundry, rides, etc.) is not allowed. 9. _____ STEALING will not be tolerated and will result in dismissal from the program and/or prosecution.Taking donated items from the facility, or spaces where donated items are found will be considered stealing. 10._____ NO FRATERNIZATION (SOCIALIZING OR BEING PERSONAL) WITH FEMALES atanytime. This includes volunteers, staff, community service workers, Women's program students. This alsoRevised March 4, 2019includes fraternization with females while off the property at a Promises of God Recovery function such ascommunity gatherings; volunteer work, church function, etc. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate termination.11._____ NO FIGHTING AND ARGUING. Fighting will not be tolerated will be dealt with swiftly. Anyoneinvolved in this type of behavior will be terminated from the program.12._____ BARGAIN CENTERS. Students are not allowed to purchase items from our bargain centers while in this recovery program.13._____ TOBACCO use is NOT permitted at Promises of God Recovery. Smoking will result in immediate dismissal.14._____ STUDENTS RECEIVING OR SENDING ITEMS VIA VISITATION is strictly PROHIBITEDand violation of this policy will result in termination from the program.15._____ THE USE OF ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES OR E-CIGS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED while in the Recovery Program.16._____ NO BANDANAS will be displayed on your person for any reason.17. ________STUDENTS APPROVED ENTRY into our Men's Addiction Recovery Program is TENTATIVE upon their ability to not only follow Promises of God Recovery policies,but also the ability to carry out ALL work assignments.18. _____IT IS UNDERSTOOD that I have voluntarily come to Promises of God Recovery for help. I am NOT hired or employed by the program. I also understand that Promises of God Recovery is not responsible for ANY bills which may occur due to accident, injury or illness while I am a client. 19. _____Promises of God Recovery reserves the right to turn away any person or ask any person to leave Promises of God Recovery property if at any time the program staff or security personnel sense that a student may be harmful to themselves, others, or a disruption to current program clients.20. ______ Promises of God Recovery desires for all men to find salvation and new life in Christ Jesus. We understand that this does not always happen. The rules of Promises of God Recovery are designed, however to provide an environment that will encourage men to come to Jesus. The rules are not to hinder any man's efforts to better themselves, but instead are intended to help him achieve his own goals. At a minimum, it will provide a degree of order for men, to prevent chaos and confusion. If you have any questions about the guidelines of conduct and expectations, please feel free to inquire about them with the Men's Director. 21.________ *Caution* Energy drinks and/or weight gain/bodybuilding supplements are prohibited. Some medications, energy drinks, supplements, and/or vitamins may cause a false positive drug screen. Students taking medications, prescription or non-prescription, while in the program or on pass do so AT THEIR OWN RISK. Ingesting ANY substance that causes a false positive drug screen will be considered a rule violation and the student will be immediately terminated from the program. FAILING ANY DRUG SCREEN FOR ANY REASON WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION. DUETO CHAIN OF CUSTODY CONCERNS, THE STUDENT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO OBTAIN ANY OUTSIDE DRUG TESTING.Revised March 4, 201922. _____ A student's first ninety (90) days at the Promises of God Recovery Intake and Evaluation phase are on a trial basis and it is considered a continuation of the selection process. The (90) day probationary period provides Promises of God Recovery an opportunity to observe and evaluate the willingness and sincerity of the student. This includes the student's ability to satisfactorily perform the essential functions and requirements of the program and to observe and evaluate the student's work therapy and conduct. This includes, but is not limited to, the student's attitude and the student's relationship with fellow students and Promises of God Recovery staff. During this probationary period, Promises of God Recovery may release any student immediately, with or without cause and with or without notice.23. ______ Students are not allowed to receive food stamps. Any student receiving food stamps must discontinue all food stamps until they have graduated the program.24. ______ If the student is on bond or probation Promises of God Recovery is under no obligation to notify the student upon a decision by staff to terminate or release said student from the program. The student's bondsman or probation officer will be notified immediately and the student will be reprimanded to the custody of the bondsman or court system. I understand and will comply by all the above rules and policies of the Promises of God Recovery.25. ______ SOLICITING- Students should not solicit or ask staff or volunteers to give them any items. If a student needs something he must make all requests to the Director. Student should not directly request items from volunteers or community members. Student must make requests privately and out of the presence of others to the Director. In order to make this "zero-tolerance" policy clear to everyone includingemployees, staff members, volunteers, as well as Board Members, we have adopted mandatoryprocedures that these individuals and victims must follow when they reasonably suspect, learn of, orwitness prohibited conduct.This abuse is defined as every and all actual, threatened, or alleged acts of physical or mental abuse,sexual abuse, or sexual misconduct performed by one or more persons acting together.Reporting ProcedureAnyone, as identified above, who learns of, or has a reasonable suspicion of prohibited conduct mustimmediately report it to Steven Newberry, Chairman of Promises of God Recovery. If the victim is an adult, abuse or neglect will be reported by Steven Newberry to the appropriate local or state policeand/or Protective Agency. If a child is the victim of abuse or neglect Steven Newberry will report it tothe appropriate local or state police and/or Child Protective Agency. Appropriate family members ofthe victim will be notified immediately of suspected child abuse or neglect.Investigation & Follow UpPromises of God Recovery takes allegations of prohibited conduct seriously. Once the allegation isreported Promises of God Recovery will promptly, thoroughly, and impartially initiate an investigation todetermine whether there is a reasonable basis to believe that the prohibited conduct has occurred and·that it was committed by the one(s) accused of the incident. The investigation will be undertaken by Steven Newberry, who will designate an internal team of associates, and that may include third partyassociates such as an attorney, if needed. Promises of God Recovery will cooperate fully with anyinvestigation conducted by law enforcement or regulatory agencies, and may refer the complaint andthe result of our investigation to those agencies. Promises of God Recovery reserves the right to placethe one(s) accused of the incident to an alternate assignment that does not involve personal contactwith others involved or as may be required by law. To the fullest extent possible, Promises of God Recovery will endeavor to keep the identity of the one(s) accused in the incident, and/or the allegedvictim(s), confidential.If the investigation substantiates the allegation, disciplinary procedures, including but not limited totermination of the appropriate individual(s) relationship with Promises of God Recovery.Retaliation ProhibitedWe prohibit retaliation against anyone; including an employee, volunteer, board member, student or individual, who in good faith reports prohibited conduct, including any retaliation against a participant in the investigation.
