8:30 ~ James Bean; regarding the letter he received on his dog running at large. (may try to move this to 7:30 if I can reach him.)

Minutes of the meeting of December 28, 2010, for approval*.

Review bills, there are no declarations or deeds to review.

Abatement Requests:

Bill VanTuinen has written letters to Mr. Sampson (11R-010) and Mr. and Mrs. Magliozzi (09R-015) requesting the additional information on their requested abatements*.

He is recommending a $13,700 abatement in land valuation to Mr. and Mrs. Magliozzi for their lot 10R-026, that was mapped wrong after a split of the lot last year with their daughter*.

Bill Van Tuinen will also be down on January 27th to meet with the Selectmen (9:30 am), do additional work or answer citizens questions.

New Requests:

Barabe, Barbara: (10U-022) challenging land value.

Merrick, Constant & Cynthia: (03R-015-B) challenging mobile home value.

Correspondence:

DEP update on Maine’s E-Waste and Mercury added lamp recycling programs in 2011, and the 1st DEP Product Stewardship Report to the Legislature. Copy already forwarded to SWC.

UMaine Augusta with an invitation to join the Partnership for a Well Designed Maine, with the goal of corroboration between design students and the Maine communities. They would like us to share our design needs.

MMTCTA Annual Conference; May 19th in Brewer.

Maine Resource Recovery Assoc. ~ December Newsletter.

FAME with poster for regional events being held to help students and families complete the FAFSA forms.

MeDMR Division Director Amy Fitzpatrick email letting us know she is leaving and giving a listing of numbers of Public Health Division personnel to contact.

MERevenue, Property Tax Division, regarding info on Commercial Forestry acreage. .

Emergency Management Institute* course being offered (in MD); copies already forwarded to Dale and the Fire Dept.

MMA Municipal Member Dues and Service Program for 2011; with contact names.

2011 Governor’s Awards for Service and Volunteerism nomination info and deadline date.

Funding Requests from Spectrum Generations, Sweetser and Coastal Transportation.

Other Correspondence: Certificate of Liability Insurance for Harry Crooker and Wyman and Simpson, Inc.; Thank you notes from Bath Area Food Bank, Sweetser and Patten Free Library.

Old Business:

Haddock-Montgomery: Will get an update from Mr. Birdsall (and/or Mr. Trabona) on the last Planning Board meeting (Jan 5th) results, they were to finalize their response to Justice Horton. Select board has also received a letter from Dyer, Goodall and Denison, P.A. regarding a settlement offer that is to be discussed in executive session on the 25th at 7:15pm with legal counsel.

Aleada Pinkham house : awaiting paperwork from legal counsel.

Radio Testing for West Bath Tower site: Larry forwarded results of testing of 3 portables supplied by Sagadahoc County Communication Center that indicate more work needed. Follow up with Misty needed??

Mr. Plummer to update the board on his meeting with the GHS regarding storage.

Mary has requested a quote on the work needed on the exterior of the building (new paint, wood in some places), so we can plan for the next budget.

Update on Bill VanTuinen visit of Jan 6th.

Nancy Kinner, an Environmental Engineer at UNH is interested in serving on the Conservation Commission She is here on the weekends and can be available to meet with the Selectmen if need be.

Do we want Town Meeting on the 3rd Saturday of June (18th) ? This will eliminate the need for additional election if the state has a ballot….

Ok to request meeting with Bernie and Sandy Goodman to discuss drainage issues at the February 8th meeting?

Shortfall of $44K for the school for this fiscal year. Due to the increase of tuition students (7) moving to Town. They will determine at their next Committee meeting how to address.

Complaint about “puddle” in front of Jack Williams.
