Students may apply for a waiver of all or part of tuition and fee increases. Students with demonstrated financial hardship as a result of the increase(s) may qualify for a hardship waiver. You must meet ALL of the criteria listed under the Tuition Hardship Waiver Policy attached to qualify. Students who do not meet ALL of the criteria will not be approved.

Application Deadline: Student must apply and qualify for the hardship waiver by the fourteenth (14th) class day of the semester in question. You must submit the completed form to the ULM Financial Aid Office.

TUITION HARDSHIP WAIVER POLICY

Students may apply for a waiver of all or part of tuition and fee increases. The Tuition Hardship Waiver Application will consider the Tuition, Academic Excellence Fee, Operational Fee, and other applicable fee increases above the previous fiscal year's Tuition and Fee amount. Hardship waiver considerations are available fall and spring semesters only. Students must submit a Tuition Hardship Waiver Application each semester for consideration. Students with demonstrated financial hardship as a result of the increase(s) may qualify for a hardship waiver. You must meet ALL of the following criteria for consideration:

Criteria for Undergraduate Students ? Louisiana resident ? Full-time student ? Must apply for federal financial aid and accept all financial aid for which you qualify (not including the federal Parent PLUS loan) ? Be eligible to receive federal financial aid ? Qualify for the federal Pell Grant as determined by the U.S. Department of Education ? Total qualified educational expenses (tuition, fees, books as defined in the Cost of Attendance) must be greater than your financial aid package (Pell Grant, state and federal supplemental grants, federal student loans, TOPS, other scholarships) ? Grants, scholarships, and other waivers/exemptions received by the student must be less than tuition and fees

Criteria for Graduate Students ? Louisiana resident ? Full-time student ? Must apply for federal financial aid and accept all financial aid for which you qualify (not including the federal Graduate PLUS loan) ? Be eligible to receive federal financial aid ? Have a zero Expected Family Contribution (EFC) ? Not receiving financial assistance through a scholarship, assistantship, fellowship, tuition exemption/waiver or federal/state grant aid

To Apply: Complete and submit the Tuition Hardship Waiver Application to the ULM Financial Aid Office by the fourteenth (14th) class day for the semester in question. The application is available on the ULM Financial Aid website at , or you may request a hard copy by visiting the ULM Financial Aid Office.
