Missouri Weekly Hay Summary 12/19/19

Winter weather covered the state this week. This encouraged a bit more feeding, but limited what little movement might have been planned. As has been the case most of this fall, nothing lasts long and a big warm up is forecasted which will have cattle and producers in the mud once again before Christmas. Unlike several other states to the east and north, Missouri is fairing much better on hay supplies as the feeding season and the official start to winter arrive. The supply of hay is moderate to heavy, demand is light to moderate and prices are steady. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and sellers. To be listed, or to view the directory visit abd/haydirectory/ for listings of hay (All prices f.o.b. and per ton unless specified and on most recent reported sales.
