Mehlville School DistrictPlan C: Connected Learning Early ChildhoodWhat learning can students engage in throughout the first week of school?All Students will receive a link to the MEC Google Site before the first day of school.? (Parents may request a hard copy to be mailed). Connected Learning instruction will begin the week of August 31st.?*For Tuition Students to access the connected model learning, tuition will be $55/month until in-person classes resume. At that time tuition will return to in-person rates.For parents who are unable to access the live teaching sessions, the Google Site will be used for weekly themed activities, recordings of videos, additional resources, and social-emotional behavior supports. ?Sample Schedule for Connected Learning: (times and days may vary by teacher)Connected Learning in the Early Childhood setting for ALL STUDENTS:Parents will have access to a Google Site where the program-wide curriculum will be available - this would include recordings of lessons that you can access at any time. Teachers will have their own pages on the Google Site where you can access lessons specific to your classroom. Teachers will host a live whole group circle time with your child’s class two times a week on Google Meet teachers will also be meeting with small groups or one-on-one via Google Meet Teachers will have twice daily office hours where you can contact them directly with any questions or needed supports Teachers will be sending home a bag of materials for hands-on use in the home that will be connected to the themed activities (materials will be sent home once a month)Students receiving Special Education and related services:Case managers/teachers will be reaching out the week of the 24th to develop a Distance Learning Plan for your child’s IEP while we are in Connected Learning.? The Distance Learning Plan is developed with the family and supports individualized student planning for the delivery of special education and related services when school facilities are closed.? This includes consulting with the parents on the following topics:Priorities needed for the student during school closures, such as instructional supports, materials for the home, and parent trainingCommunication plan between the case manager and the parents IEP goals that would be addressed during short term and long term school closuresAccommodations and modifications needed during a closure How progress will be monitored Any other information that would impact the implementation of the learning planService providers will be delivering tele-practice and tele-coaching with small groups of students and parents via Google Meet or telephone to address IEP goals and activities.Teachers and case managers will also be sending home an individualized IEP goal sheet every two weeks with one goal area per discipline (communication development, physical development, social-emotional behavior, adaptive behavior, and cognitive development) data will be taken and feedback given Your teacher/case manager and your child’s therapists will have twice daily office hours where you can contact them with any questions ................
