A complete sentence MUST contain a SUBJECT and a VERB
To learn new vocabulary, you need to be able to
IDENTIFY PARTS OF SPEECH!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOUNS, PRONOUNS, PROPER NOUNS are all SUBJECTS.
OFTEN, but not always, they are preceded by an IDENTIFIER:
|The___N___ |One__N____ |A__N_____ |My___N___ |
|Five___N___ |An____N____ |I |You |
|All____N__ |They |Another_N__ |Everybody |
|Several _N___ |David |Porsche |Father |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ACTION VERBS & “BE” VERBS
|eat |throw |absorb |
|conceptualize |regurgitate |dramatize |
|desecrate |demoralize |secrete |
|run |am |justify |
|are |were |is |
RULE: A complete sentence MUST contain both a SUBJECT and a VERB.
Everything else is extra.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADJECTIVE modifies (describes) a NOUN.
“Kid” is a noun. What type of “kid?” A CUTE kid.
|CUTE kid |FUNNY story |FAST car |
|INTELLIGENT group |LATE news |ENTERTAINING show |

It explains HOW or TO WHAT EXTENT.

|SUBJECT + VERB = complete sentence. |
|Kittens + sleep. = complete sentence. |
|I + cared. = complete sentence. |
|We + are. = complete sentence. |
|You + know. = complete sentence. |
If you REMOVE the SUBJECT or VERB from the sentence,
then you know the PART OF SPEECH of the OTHER word.
[ Kittens ___?___. ] [ ____?__ know.] [ ___?__ cared.] [ I ___?____. ]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUBJECT + VERB + ADJECTIVE
