The Florida Emergency Medical Communications Plan, Volume 2 (Plan) has been revised and is now available online.

This revision includes updates specifically in section 3.2, the "Allocation Tables" by County and section 6 (Wide Area and Statewide Interservice/Mutual-Aid Frequencies). Section 3.2.5 (EMS Air Transport Information), section 4 (Interstate Coordination), and section 5 (Hospital Latitude/Longitude Coordinates) will be updated in a future revision.

Because this Plan can be carried as a softcopy on all transport permitted vehicles within the State, more periodic revision may occur to keep section 3 current ? particularly where telephone numbers and MED channel assignments are noted "TBD" (to be determined). 1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Purpose

Volume II of the Emergency Medical Services Communications Plan (EMSCP) has been developed by the State of Florida, Department of Management Services (DMS) as an operational "field manual" to be carried as standard equipment (hardcopy or softcopy) on all transport permitted vehicles within the State. It is designed to contain information useful for day-to-day operations, as well as to provide the data necessary to enable radio communications during transport operations in unfamiliar areas, including neighboring counties in Georgia and Alabama.

The Department of Management Services invites suggestions regarding the contents of both Volume I and Volume II of the EMSCP. Please submit recommendations and corrections for the EMS Communications Plan to DMS. Telephone (850) 922-7426 or by mail to:

1.2 Summary

Section 2.0 "OPERATIONAL INFORMATION" contains best practice information for correct operation of communications equipment including operating protocol and technical considerations.

Section 3.0 "EMS FREQUENCY ALLOCATIONS" contains an alphabetical listing by county of all radio frequencies for EMS operations within the State, as well as Hospital Emergency Department (ED) addresses and telephone information. Radio dial codes are shown for those counties using selective addressing for radio communications with hospitals. The city and telephone number of each provider is listed. The air ambulance providers are listed separately, showing contact information, frequency allocation, and latitude/ longitude coordinates. Except for MED channel assignments and ED phone numbers, the Hospital ED information is based on the database of Acute Care Facilities recognized by the Florida Department of Health (DOH). EMS Providers listed in this section are also based on the licensure database from DOH.

Section 4.0 "INTERSTATE ALLOCATIONS" gives a general description of the EMS communications systems in adjacent counties of both Georgia and Alabama, as well as the address, telephone, radio frequency, and selective address dial code of each hospital in those counties.
