Position Summary

Under indirect supervision, provides a range of psychosocial and counseling therapy (individually or in groups), crisis intervention, documentation requirement services in the office and / or school environment. Responsibilities include ability to assess problems and determine appropriate types and methods of treatment, and ability to implement intervention methodologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position

• Prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs

• Provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required

• Collects data about patients through interview, case history, psychological tests, and/or therapeutic approaches or referrals to other specialists

• Consults with other therapists and related professional and para-professional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework

• Refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required

• Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems

• Visits patients and families in their home or school setting to provide counseling and outreach services

• Follows up to determine reliability of treatment used and changes method and degree of therapy when indicated

• Establishes and maintains activity logs of client’s services in schools, case files, referrals, surveys of parents and teachers and treatment updates

• Prepares related documentation and keeps abreast of patient data to ensure appropriate treatment and care is delivered

• Consults with other legal and treatment agencies and individuals in relation to patient/client records, rights, and responsibilities

• Supports the goals and mission of MCRHS, Inc.

Requirements

• Current Florida Professional License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

• Current life support training certification.

• Teaching experience preferred.

• Knowledgeable in addictions and / or DOT training.

• Requires familiarity with and sensitivity to Hispanic culture, family customs and child rearing practices.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish beneficial.

• Familiarity with multicultural groups, previous work experience in a multicultural setting desired

Must have ability to communicate and establish effective working relationships. Must be able to coordinate several activities to quickly analyze and resolve problems. Understands that work can be stressful, and long hours are often required. Employee understands that there is considerable amount of physical activity, some sedentary talking and writing.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
