Dear Colleague:

We want to make you aware of the vaccine codes for the influenza vaccines that are available for the 2019-2020 season (see table attached). Please share this notice with your information technology staff, billing system staff or vendor, and/or electronic health record vendor so that your system's vaccine codes can be updated. Regularly updating your system will enable you to report vaccines correctly to the Citywide Immunization Registry (CIR). If you need technical assistance, please call us at (347) 396-2400.

If you are reporting immunizations directly from your electronic health record (EHR) via the CIR HL7 Web Service and have attested to or plan to attest to Meaningful Use Stage 3, please note the following:

1. When reporting NDC for an immunization administered, you must report the sale NDC11 value, which can be found on the vaccine box. For instance, a dose of Flurarix Quadrivalent (2019/2020 flu season, CVX 150) should be reported with sale NDC11 value 58160-0896-52 (as opposed to the NDC10 value of 58160-0896-41).

2. CVX Code is still required, even if you are reporting NDC as well.

Please reach out to your EHR vendor or onsite technical contact for assistance reporting sale NDC11 to the CIR. To learn more about Meaningful Use and/or register your intent to submit data for Meaningful Use, visit this website:
