School Code: 331 Course Code: 2E-F271 / 011-F110 Course Duration: 4 WeeksGENERAL INFORMATIONPURPOSE: Provide USSOCOM units with the information necessary to prepare students for the Special Warfare Network Development Course (SWNDC).SCOPE: This memorandum covers the administrative requirements for the SWNDC. This document is UNCLASSIFIED. This information facilitates the proper preparation of the individual, prerequisites, and orders for attendance to the course. GENERAL:The Special Warfare Network Development Course (SWNDC) trains and educates Special Warfare (SW) and Unconventional Warfare (UW) principles to ARSOF Soldiers IOT design, develop, assess and expand complex indigenous/resistance networks in support of irregular warfare objectives during Joint Operations.STUDENT INFORMATION:PREREQUISITES. This course is open to USSOCOM Active-component and National Guard DoD and Joint Service Members. Students must have orders to attend the course, and meet the following course prerequisites:Must be USSOCOM component qualified Officers (O3-O5), Warrant Officers (W1-W5), or Enlisted Soldiers (E6-E9), or select U.S. Interagency Civilians.Must have a minimum two years of SOF experience at the tactical or operational level.Must possess a current SECRET security clearance.Any variation from these prerequisites requires a waiver from the 6th Battalion, 2nd Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) Commander. For information regarding waiver requests, students should contact the SWNDC NCOIC or 6th Battalion S3.REPORTING INSTRUCTIONS:TDY Arrival. Participants in a TDY status are required to arrive in the Fort Bragg, NC (FBNC) area NLT 1700 on the report date, the day prior to the start date. No in-person check in is required on this date. Reporting time and location. Students will report to Room 332, Bank Hall, NLT 0830 on the start date. A representative of the SWNDC cadre will meet all students outside the SWNDC classroom for in processing. Reporting uniform is civilian business casual. Business casual attire consists of slacks or appropriate dress/skirt, matching belt, appropriate (matching) collared shirt with appropriately colored shoes. Individual grooming standards will be in accordance with active duty DOD regulations or individual unit mission requirements. Please note that on the final day of the course students are highly encouraged to wear a coat and tie, or the female equivalent.SIPR Token. Ensure you have a USASOC SIPR SOFNET account and bring your SIPR Token. Again, BRING your SIPR TOKEN. We will use it daily.USSOCOM Network Account. Students will utilize USSOCOM SIPR and NIPR networks throughout the conduct of the course. Students who do not currently possess USSOCOM account are required to submit a Network Account Request. Any students who fall into this category should contact the SWNDC NCOIC for required documentation.Participants must have a copy of their SRB/ORB when reporting. This verifies the time in service and SOF experience requirement for entrance into SWNDC. Non-Army personnel should report with the equivalent training and assignment record for their branch or organization.Participants must have all their affairs in order prior to in processing. DO NOT schedule routine appointments or other activities during duty hours for the duration of this course. Therefore, participants must have in their possession a Memorandum for Record signed by their immediate supervisor, stating that there are no prior appointments scheduled for the duration of the SWNDC course when reporting. Expectation is that each participant will attend the entirety of the course and will not miss time due to pre-coordinated events such as; doctor appointments, briefs to their command, and jumps, etc. Emergencies will be on a case-by-case basis with appropriate cadre notification time. Registered students will receive an example memorandum from the SWNDC NCOIC.Participants must have in their possession a signed copy of the prerequisite waiver, if necessary, when they report. Submit waiver requests 30 days prior to the course start date to allow for adequate review and processing time. The waiver request addresses the need for attendance to the course even though a student may not meet prerequisite ATRRS criteria. Please consult ATRRS for prerequisite criteria. This prerequisite waiver request must be signed by the participants Battalion Commander and routed to the SWNDC committee through the participants Group, or Brigade School representative. The Special Warfare Committee will consider attendance to the SWNDC on a case-by-case basis for those individuals who do not meet minimum requirements. Students should also possess basic computer literacy skills (ability to use the latest versions of Microsoft Office/Windows).Participants must have in their possession a copy of their TDY orders and ATRRS reservation. Participants must have in their possession a copy of Unit Pre-Execution Checklist (TRADOC Form 350-18-2-R-E). SWNDC will provide this form to registered students. This form will be required the first day of class. Participants may have in their possession a Courier Card for in and around Fort Bragg, NC. If you are stationed at Fort Bragg, you may be authorized to hand carry some training materials from the classroom to your company or team area. In order to gain approval to move training materials from the classroom you are required to have in your possession a Courier Card allowing you to transport classified material within 25 miles of Fort Bragg. AIRBORNE OPERATIONS: Students will not be excused from class to conduct airborne operations during training. Units should make every effort to ensure students do not report in a pay-hurt or pay-loss status.BILLETING: Students in TDY status are required to reserve/find their own billeting for the duration of the course. SWNDC recommends the following hotels due to proximity and security.Hilton Home 2 SuitesResidence Inn, Marriott Towne Place Suites, Fayetteville Cross CreekMEALS: Attending students should be placed on full per-diem. There is limited time to utilize Appropriated Funding dining facilities. A refrigerator and a small microwave are available as limited time is given for mid-day meals.Students will have access to ATMs, banking, and check-cashing facilities while at Fort Bragg, NC. PARKING: Students should park in the designated student parking lot located to the south of Bank Hall.RECOMMENDED READING: The SWNDC Cadre suggest the following list of references.
