Home learning plan: 18/1/21These are the activities that we will be doing in class this week. It would be great if you could have a go at these and send pictures through Evidence me so I can offer feedback and other suggestions of work if needed. Please do contact me if you have any questions about the work set. Work sent on Evidence Me gets added to their Learning Journey and we can use the work as part of their ongoing assessment. Teams – I will be using this as the main way of working with the children and keeping in contact with them. From 8.45 – 9 am each morning I will have a catch up session where you can join to just say hello or if you need any help with any of the work set. In the Teams column on the grid below will be all the Teams sessions for that day and which groups will have live sessions. I will also be live streaming carpet sessions from the classroom most days. 10.30 Monday, Tuesday, Friday is our Treasure Chest time – these sessions are linked to our Literacy work and I share stories with the children. On Tuesdays and Fridays at 1pm there will be Maths sessions live streamed, details of any resources you may need for these sessions are written on the plan below in the Maths column. These live sessions will be recorded so if you are unable to join at the set times you can watch the recording in your own time. Group work sessions for Literacy and Maths – I will work with different groups on different days – please check the Teams session column to see when your session is and also your Teams calendar. During the Live streamed Treasure chest session I will be reading the book of the week – The Pirates are coming.I have attached with the plans a copy of the letter that Baby Bear left us - this will explain where we are going on our travels this week! The literacy task in the group work sessions this week is to write a letter warning the people of the village that the pirates are coming. I will be:Reminding the children of the story The Pirates are Coming. Asking why didn’t the people in the village believe the boy about the pirates?Explaining that they are going to write their own letter to the people warning them that the Pirates are coming. We will be thinking about where else we have seen letters recently? Has Baby Bear been sending us letters? What are letters used for? (sending information, keeping in contact, invitations etc) We will then:Think about what you might be warning the people about. What have you seen, do they look scary? Are there lots of them? Is the ship really big? Look at the pictures in the book to help decide what you are going to be warning them about.
