Algebra 12020-2021Ms. BrennemanE-mail: mary.h.brenneman@BWHS Phone: 703-957-4400Course Description Algebra 1 incorporates concepts and skills necessary for students to pursue the study of mathematics. The arithmetic properties of numbers are extended to include the development of the real number system. The fundamental concepts of equality, functions, multiple representations, and data analysis guide the activities that allow students to enhance problem solving skills. The foundation of this course will be to assist the students in the development of their mathematical reasoning skills. This will be developed through problem solving, communication (oral and written), the creation of connections between concepts within the course and content from other courses, and creating mathematical representations.Recommended SuppliesStylus for ChromebookPencils and eraserGraph paper notebookTextbook: enVision Algebra 1; available online through Pearson EasyBridge in the Textbook folder on LCPS GoCalculator: Desmos online graphing calculator is free and has a free phone app. If you prefer to buy a stand-alone calculator, TI-84 is the recommended model. The 3 Ps of Class ConductBe PreparedArrive to our synchronous Google Meet sessions on time.
